i posted this originally on the battlebit reddit community:

I have a friend who has a hearing disability, and it would be nice to add a slider (to the vignette effect) so he can visually see when people are shooting at him, because the sound of the bullets when someone shoots at you and misses, he doesn't hear it clearly.

He plays sniper a lot so, when people are shooting at him, he doesn't know until is too late haha.

I remember in battlefield 3, there was like a blurry effect when people shoot at you, and in battlefield 4 it was a vignette effect if i remember correctly.

user Saumfar added context to my original post (ty saumfar):

"There is in fact a "suppression" effect when you're getting shot at!

It's not as strong as in BF, but if someone fires a salvo over your head, you will get the vignette "tunnel vision" effect. Its only visual at the moment, and I haven't heard of any planned changes for how it works.

As you said though, if there was a slider to increase the strength of this for people with hearing disabilities, it would be great (without affecting weapon sway or anything of course)."

Something like Squad's suppression effects perhaps? What stains your screen, making it more shaky?

This already exists but is heavily toned down
