The smoke trail doesn't matter for snipers if they get a headshot on you. Obviously then, it's function is to let you reposition only if they miss or get a bodyshot. In that scenario, DMRs are better since they can shoot faster and still be two-shot kills when used optimally. Therefore, it only makes sense to give them the same treatment.

Why too harsh? Because other people would shoot back at you too easily? Simple solution: they also get smoke trails
Players should also leave a smoke trail behind them while they run so nobody is frustrated by not paying attention to people when they move around the map
at this point give every gun smoke a lot of ARs can kill at like 150m
and i played with smoke was still getting plenty of kills sitting 50-100m from objectives just stayed moving after every so kill
like 50-10
just people need to learn to play around it
because i know a lot of people in game are sitting in one place amd not moving after 10 or so shots
amd getting killed because of it
and i know a support or an assault with a full auto gun taking that same play style will also die

ya and as a recon main playing rn it feels almost exactly the same except i can run around with a 6x instead of a 4x XD
so I'm seeing it as an absolute win
I don't even use recon anymore. I'm running around with engi/assault with DMR. Don't event need x4 for most games
Complaining about what? Smoke trails are great. It's not fun to be shot without knowing where it's coming from. Hence the more things that have smoke trails the more fun we will all have.

You won't be able to respond if DMR shooting from 300m anyway.
In closer distances DMR works exactly like AUG or AK15/SCAR

So what's wrong with smoke trails? At AUG ranges your target should be dead before they can react anyway
They discourage you to play at AR range, because you now super visible at ranges where you die easily to any vector-cocain-addict-kid
tbh most full auto guns are already easy to see where they are shooting with there tracers

mk20 isn't really strong just really good in the right hands
you have to get a head shot to two shot so i don't have much of a problem with it
because most people dont hit head and have to go for 3 shots anyway
Same goes for m110. Most people overestimate it's ability to 2 body shot kill.
Not to mention, it's way too clunky to use at longer ranges
i was saying other DMRs are easy to see where shots are coming from because most people shoot them really fast bit the m110 is stupid op and 2 shots so even if you see the first shot your dead by the next
bruuuuu my longest kill with it was like 1000m its really not hard to control if you know what your doing lol

The fundamental design issue RN, ARs range suck ass. They can't kill snipers, can't respond to incoming fire, have no suppression mechanic to fight long range campers. NOTHING CAN BE DONE. No glint fixes that. No trail fixes that. No sound changes fixes that.
ya i still think its funny they said no shotgun but added DMRs and snipers both are stupid hard to balance without just pissing people off

Absolutely not. We can add smoke trails to sprinting players to make sure that playstyle is also kept in check.
Really... if we are goingv to add mechanics that destroy playstyles i would prefer that oki added a stamina system that only allowed smg junkies to go at full speed for 1 sec with a 10 second cooldown. I mean why not let more people have their playstyle destroyed🤨
Wrong already. Smoke trails suck even with a kill. You do realize this isnt a 1v1 game right? About 30 people can see the smoke trail at any given time with a few positioning situations being the exception. It isn't obvious that you should reposition, not even in movies you repo after EVERY shot. Before taking further nerfs into action, we should get proper data to evaluate if DMR oppression requires action in this way.

DMR difference with snipers :
- Doesn't One shot Headshot, 0 TTK.
- Doesn't have Infinite range.
- Has downside from different range.
- Doesn't ignore Armor. (Exo only for sniper)
- Have to actually manage recoil.
- No access to scope over 6x.
- Needs to fire multiple bullets = More sounds, more flash, more tracers.
- Can/mostly is in range of BR/AR.
- Cannot duel snipers at long distance.
- If you want to kill fast someone from long range, you actually need to HS multiple time.
- In general is played under 400m and more around 200m.
- Have to think about ammo.
All this, make it so trail is unnecessary. We already have massive tracer bullet. 💀

I wouldn't mind having less damage but better HS multiplier on DMR.
I just think it should be consistent for large caliber weapons to have the funny trail if it's going to be apart of the game; aesthetic reason.. I'd prefer if it went away along with the red Dorito clicking simulator.. and the wack attempt to add what ever the hell oki was thinking with the sound . . .
