Remove drone pinging/ changes

Hello !
Currently drone pinging is OP and it destroys any sort of tactics/flanking that could be done by the enemy team.
If you fly your drone right you cam survive most of the match until it gets destroyed.

Some ideas :

1. Remove drone pinging completely or create a separate class than can use drones and issue commands ( squad leader )/ assault
2. Add delay between pings, at least a few seconds and a maximum ammount active at the same time
3. Lower max height a drone is capable of to 25-30 percent of curent limit

Bonus (joke) points:
4. Orange overalls for snipers
5. A rainbow comes from the sky to indicate exactly where the recon is
6. Recon class can eat bananas instead of using medkots.
7. Randomly they will trip on the banana peels and die
8. Very rare event a banana will have explosives inside and will explode with a mushroom cloud destroying sniper nest.

Drones never had a point before now. Definitely keep the pinging. I think option 3 for spotting is the best happy-medium if high-flying is too OP. Basically if you hear a drone, you can be spotted.

I could see them lowering max drone height, though it would just result in people positioning them further away instead of higher up.

I like no max-height, but to send a ping you have to be within 50m~

Maybe they could give it a red light that blinks every time you ping. Like a cell tower light

i would prefer if drones had a CD on ping, like it lasts a lot of time, the CD could be the time between the first ping starting to ending

I think the amount of spotting it can do is fine, it just needs to be easier to see/counter

If the drone gets destroyed you can just despawn and relaunch drone.

The majority of people aren't going to immediately hit respawn if their drone dies. If they do, that's a lengthy wait

i spent a good 4-5 hours today just using the drone. My experience sofar is that:
No one targets them. Unless you get an overly salty player. in which case that player will waste the rest of the game hunting your drone likely wasting 2-3 magazines of ammo before they either die to gunfire after lighting their location up or RNGesus blessed their spray and pray with a lucky bullet. I would say if theres a height limit the handling of the drone needs to be fixed first since the drones ability to go down or turn around are almost non existent. Theres also an issue where the control of the drone just goes to hell if you try to turn around.

I agree with the CD on pings. i'd day 1-1.5 seconds. with the amount of enemies in a match that CD adds up quickly.

I would agree on moving this iteration of the drone to the squad leader class. Maybe give the recon a neutered version with a max of 8 targets

oh also, max ping range I support 100%. it is a bit silly I can sit at the back of the map where I can see all movement and basically just rapidly ping 30 players. while my drone is only a couple pixels large for the majority of people

I think it’s fine having a guy sit with a drone, he only gets like 50 points if the spotted guy dies. He wants to just chill and drone fly let him.

Smokes easily conceal you. Now there is more reason to use smokes + trade off for using smokes is decreased visibility.

I've been doing just that. It's absurdly powerful in open maps like Basra, I could sit right outside of the main spawn pinging people half across the map.

I just see that as good team play. Actually helping your squad identify and engage targets.

Yeah, I could do that just fine with static pings. Tracking 3D pings that additionally reveal the orientation of the target remove any chance the enemy might have at surviving.

Well I mean the drone is a constant footage feed. Even if marks were static you would still be able to point out directly where they are coming from.

Exactly. It's not removing any important communication feature, just not making it absurdly powerful. It would at least require me to constantly be tracking the target's movement.

Plus it punishes the lone wolfs that try to sneak around. Encourages moving with your squad.
