Before you downvote the thread because it says "increasing TTK". This is not my idea, nor suggestion. They talked about them considering making the TTK longer in the last Devcast. This is not the place to discuss whether or not to increase TTK.

I think instead of just flat out nerfing the damage of all guns, making more changes to armor is a better idea. Here is a suggestion to kill 2 birds with one stone. Oki talked about wanting more teamplay, let me offer an option that both in effect makes TTK longer, and encourages teamplay:

  • Make it so that engineers can repair armor. Make the "armor repair tool" be in the same slot as RPGs, so they have to choose between RPGs.
  • Make it so that Supports can drop boxes (not hold rightlick to resupply, that's too strong in the case of armor) that refills armor. These boxes HAS to be separate from the Heavy Ammo Crate, but in the same gadget slots.

These two changes makes it so you would prefer to play with both an armor Engie and a support with Armor Crate in your squad, and actually play with them. It also retains the possibility for people to equip light armors and go off on solo missions. Here are some further changes I suggest:

  • Make it so that Arms and Legs have some sort of damage mitigation, or also counts as armored (additional actually add arm/leg armor..)
  • To "increase TTK" you would slightly increase the overall armor value that armor gives, outside of maybe light/ranger armors.

This makes it so that people who want to be adrenaline-addicted energy-drink-chugging ninja-parkou people can still do that, but flanking (as Oki said, is the "only" way to play BBR effectively atm) will be a bit harder, but still a playstyle.

One of the things I liked about BBR when i started playing in the playtests, and continue to enjoy is the fast TTK, so I'd in the best case scenario see it kept as is, but at the very least, I think making armor thougher, instead of just making all guns worse, is the better option.

Oki wants more team play because Oki wants the game to be more like a milsim. But it gained its popularity because it was considered to be more like Battlefield. I agree that a TTK nerf is not needed and I like your suggestions.
