every game on waki ill stand ontop of the building at D and aim into the forest with a LMG at a guy is approaching and he'll have an ally spawn ontop of him. I don't know if its bogus ray casting thats making polygons from terrain count as being behind cover or what, but it happens all the time.

No, they are spawning on both. Currently, in the scenario of defending an objective, squad spawning is the only reason why it isn’t completely binary. Removing it would make control of a point literally just dependant on whether there was a single enemy in it or not. Right now that majorly influences it more than it should imo, removing the only damping factor would make the problem worse

i wish it was just a line of sight check with a short range distance check but it's not even that. i'm pretty sure it's entirely distance based and ignores obstacles, which is why the current version ends up restrictive when it shouldn't be

it used to be only distance but it was changed to include enemies "aiming at you"

needs to include a more comprehensive check because some of the cramped maps are awful with the current spawn restrictions

slight hyperbole but i played a full 30 minute match on that map and once your squadmate leaves safe zone/gets to the edge of safe zone you can't spawn on them, so every death sends you back to spawn

I kinda like where this is going. What if the squad lead could only spawn on a vehical at an occupied base, and when they do, that vehical becomes a spawn beacon for the rest of the squad who either have to spawn there, or back at the friendly base.
