Bleed is just kind of annoying atm. While I do like having the mechanic, how it currently works makes this game a "hold 3" simulator. Because bleed is so easy to proc, it has the weird side effect of always making sure you're at full HP as well since if you're going to fix your bleed you're then going to heal to full anyway. It acts as a sudo health indicator/health bar that also kills you.
Here's some suggestions I have. Use 1️⃣, 2️⃣, 3️⃣, 4️⃣, etc, to vote on which you like most, and the ✅ to indicate you just want some kind of change in general. Please vote for multiple if multiple sound good. These are individual suggestions that can work together or separately.
1: Make bleed unable to proc for like 3-10 seconds after you've healed it. This is just a QoL suggestion to prevent having to fix bleed multiple times in a row.
2: Make happen less often. You could make it a % chance that increases with damage, whatever you want. As long as it's a bit less consistent. We already have a bloody screen as a low health indicator, we don't need bleed for that as well. Making it happen a bit less consistently (like 80% instead of 100%) would make the game more tense as I try to squeeze as much use out of my bandages as possible.
3: Make it so it's more clear when we'll start taking damage from bleeding. Make the screen red-er or something, idk it's not rocket science.
4: Don't heal players the full amount, or possibly at all when fixing bleed. I think making it so fixing bleeds only heals half the normal hp (25hp instead of 50hp) would slow the game down a bit while also gelling well with some of my other suggestions.
5: Add a tip somewhere on exactly how bleed works. So all players are aware of it and there's no misinformation.
That's all I could think of atm. I feel that any of these changes would be great for the game as a whole tbh. Implementing at least some of these changes would be better than nothing.
