I haven't noticed a lot of people mention this issue up to this point - The time it takes for virtually every weapon to reload is more or less the same as doing a mag check. As such, imo it would be fair to increase the speed by a significant amount, as otherwise it doesn't really see any use. Additionally, maybe it could be used as a way to check your armor and health state as well? (e.g. you press H, do the normal mag check animation, and it also displays a 'paper doll' showing armor, and what your current health is?

the meaning of this is zero, the game is casual, there is no meaning from checking the cartridges, you can see for yourself the skip is left in the store, the same with HP, not to mention the armor. Oki tried in milsim, he succeeded.
Fun, useless fact: The M4A1 actually has bullets inside the magazine if you check it. No other gun in the game does this.
Could you elaborate? And yes, the main use of this Right now is just to check how much ammo is in the mag... but you can also see it in the corner with your ammo status. it might add value when Milsim mode comes out, but as is now, it's pretty useless frankly... and besides, I could imagine people even in milsim modes just reloading as much as possible and staying stocked on ammo, which wouldn't be difficult if support is on the team, so this action would still likely be weak, hence the suggestion to speed it up.
Additionally I've seen people suggesting quite often ways to see how much health/armor they have, and imo just lumping these all into one "check status" action would make sense, without just slapping your armor/health on the screen constantly.
Because having a big HP bar or something on screen would be a bit silly imo, same with armor. But having a way to see those things by checking yourself for wounds/damage would make sense. Maybe make it a dedicated action if need be, but that's going off on a tangent.
If you add this, then it’s probably in milsim mode; in normal mode it makes no sense. Throughout the entire game, there was no need to find out what was wrong with my armor or HP.
Still don't see it causing any harm nor balance issues it would cause, and given many players want to be able to check health/armor (see https://discord.com/channels/303681520202285057/1181893107957104750), I think many would enjoy it
