free play days on tuesday wednesday and thursday always to boost player pop and make the game more active and have it that theres always a server with players even on days where normaly no one plays.
either that or make it so the game is free, but you pay to have access to official servers by buying the game?

i feel like theres huge potenial here but most ppl are not willing or cant spend the money to buy the game, leaving a HUGE segment of people who would play the game, not playing the game looking at how smooth the game runs on low end hardware.

only viable way would be to make a demo version thats basically "free to play"
then yes have some type of internal system either with the build connecting to the master server
or something else along those lines

you still do not get it.
the free play days on the days theres the least players is to boost server pop when its on the all time low, and make it so that the players who would never buy the game either way, would still get to play it, and have a positive impact, all gains nothing gets wasted/given free.
and once you get the group of free day play ppl hooked, they will wanna buy it to get access to the game when theres most players, to play with friends who bought the game or only have time in the weekend.

it wont, if the comunity doesnt want that, and if the devs dont wanna be smart abt it, cause you cant deny, long terms this means more loyal players, more active servers when theres normaly no ppl online playing on dem week days at 10 in the morning on a school day.

so in fact i do know that this IS what would happen, and it would make this one amazing game.

250player servers with 100 players online, thats 150 wasted slots on a server you are paying for 250 slots.
and even so, if its JUST a server cost money case, ok make free/demo players limited to non oficial servers but PRIVATE servers that batlebit does not spend any money on either way? you are hung up on the fact that servers are expensive, when they arent, and if they were comunity servers by private ppl are a thing.

254 slot server, has 100ppl on it on a week day.
150 wasted slots.
make the game free on weekdays so those slots dont get wasted, cause you pay the same amnt for a 254player server even if it has just 10 players.

so thats the big server issue solved, no wasted money.
and as for private servers ppl can host those themselfs.
zero money wasted.
if what you are saying abt the servers being so crazy pricey to host is true this method makes sense, esp seeing that theres a point where every one has bought the game, and there wont be any new cash coming in so what the game dies cause the servers cant be hosted any more huh?

also 64 slot server is 50euro a whole month of runtime also, so private servers limited to that size, and can be hosted at home on any semi competant pc

its less so impractical, more so would need some actual tought, calculate using statistics, and going of that do the logical move

core ideas here are just basic stuff like
1 not wasting 254 slot servers when player pop is low.
2 make it semi/partialy free to play to get more ppl a chance to try the game, and then get hooked, and later buy it giving them full proper normal access.
3 make the free version only playable on privately hosted servers that BBR devs dont pay any more money for any way
4 have a cool system unlike any other game that would allow for either option 1 or 2 or 3 or all of the above.

if BBR was free and would need to host my own server to play it? id be happy with even a 32 player server hosted on the pc im playing on and play that way, or pay for a 64 slot server thats just 50euro a month, and get access to a curated server with active admins and ppl and extra stuff implemented like moded vechicles n stuff

if the devs arent willing to do this oh well, too bad. gonna wait for a 50% sale and play it on and of alone for a month or 2 till it gets boring, maybe try to get 1 friend to buy the game to extend the fun to be had, and thats that.
and deal with the fact im an EU morning gamer playing from 4 in the morning till 11 where in most games servers are pretty empty usualy

I don’t think this guy realizes servers downscale when they don’t have higher player counts unless it’s a community server which sometimes do and sometimes don’t.

free to play in 32person or smaller server, bigger server access you need to buy the game.
and make a system where durning the days when least players are online aka tue wen and thursday mornings the free to play players have access to them to maintain server pop on a 250player server.

so thats two methods, the seccond one would work asuming the servers that are hosting the well game server, are not pay per hour of use, but on a monthly subscription aka why not have people play on it from free play when most ppl at work or school, and if the servers are pay per hour, still, maybe worth looking into getting rented servers where its pay per month since those are cheaper in the long run, and having such a system would work

but most importantly, 32 player, or even 16 player matches on community/user created servers would make sense for free to play playerbase, who would eventualy buy the game after a while of playing and wanting in on the big servers

Those are community servers, not official. They can be up whenever since they are being run by someone else privately.

If I recall this was already discussed by the devs. They can’t just make the game free to play whenever they want. They have to send a request to Steam, and then Steam will give them a date they’re allowed to open for free to play. The process takes time, and isn’t entirely under their control, which is one of the reasons why it’s not a regular thing.
