I feel like TF2's payload gamemode could super fun if adapted into BBR. My idea here is the game could either be ran in a one train format or a two train format. I've included an image of what the two train format would look like.
The payload in this case would be a train with a bomb. I've included a few example images of railcars that may work for the game, and of the bomb that would be loaded on it. The train should be around 2-6 cars long - including an engine to drive it. This would scale with server size. 2-4 squads should fit comfortably on each car. The train would be indestructible minus some windows, doors, and walls potentially. I'm torn on if the bomb should be able to be blown up to win the game. It will however defo blow up if you reach the end and win, killing everyone around it!
The basic goal & settings of Freight Race are as follows:
*- Get your team's train to the end to win!
- If time runs out, the team with the farthest train wins. When there's one train, two rounds are played like rush.
- Radio beacons off.
- Tickets are off when there are two trains.
- When there's one train, tickets are on for the side trying to stop the train.
- Land and boat transport vehicles are on for larger maps.*
The train would act as follows:
*- The train speeds up the more friendly players are inside/on top of it. Not when players are simply around it (this makes it possible to clear it).
- To reach maximum speed the train would require a certain % of the team to be inside of it; let's say 70%-50% depending on if there's one or two trains.
- The people needed for max speed, and the speed provided by each individual person would scale with server size. One squad on 32s can move the train faster than one squad on 127s.
- The train will slow down if enemies are on board, coming to a complete stop if they equal or outnumber the friendlies.
- The train will roll backwards if no friendlies are on it for a bit.
- The train will run over things, killing 'em!*
