how many players use the ex mags there to slow,
this game has so much Varity but I think there should be more because I doubt much people use the ex mags because there to slow in this game even if its just a small decrease like 25% to 35% to the mags debuff not speed over all.
e.g the honey badger 3 more bullets and for all those debuffs

And i only found out recently is that the ex mags go up by % so with the FAL and most other guns is say you have 2.00 recoil the ex mag will make that go up by a % so the higher that recoil stat the worse the debuff with the ex mag is added.
so right now with a 10% increase the stat would go up 0.2 but u say u get attachments which makes 3.00 when adding the ex mags it would add 0.30 instead of 0.2

I think we all agree with this. But someone needs to come up with the concrete numbers for the tweak, so it would be nice if you could make a table proposing the actual changes that would make them a nice option without being strictly better than regular mags.

Sure. For instance, I think they should affect run speed, ADS speed and total mags you can carry. Affecting recoil feels both unrealistic and way too punishing.

i think the recoil change is ok but i dont think they should base it on % more per gun because a gun with really high h recoil e.g the fal

because if you get things to make the % of recoil worse like on the FAL so vert grip and v a m b barrel the recoil h recoil for the ex mag gets worse

Hmm. Minor buffs would be ok. Speed decrease makes sense but the recoil cost of an extended mag does not

I have been using extended mags on the FAMAS and the SCAR, it isnt bad, actually I think it makes the guns much better in close quarters, but Ifeel like the recoil penalty should be halfed and the running speed shouldnt be afected

Attachments doing the same thing on all guns means by default the attachments you want aren’t the same for every weapon but adds consistency so the player can understand what scenarios they’re all good for

I did propose my rework there.

Extend mag: move speed penalty, slower ads (promotes positional plays over run and gun. Recoil unaffected).
Quick mag: weapon swap penalty
Short mag: small mag penalty, less recoil, slight Movespeed buff (like FAL).

It would be nice to have a choice to use extend mag in as val at the cost of movespeed or ads, but not badly affecting recoil when it's already subpar compared to smg

FAL is fine as is. It has like 1.10 movespeed and hits like a truck despite small mag. Ranger armor solves mag issues as well.

Hopefully Oki takes my suggestion in mind.

Extend mag: move speed penalty (0.05 to 0.10 decrease), slower ADS (promotes positional plays over run and gun. Recoil is unaffected). The style is high uptime

Quick mag: weapon swap penalty

Short mag: small mag penalty, less recoil , slight Movespeed buff (like FAL).

I think they should, take away the quick mag, every gun should have a short mag faster movement ads and reload, standard mag, extended A 5 more bullets worse reload time (reduced penalty to movement speed and ADS depending on the gun or not) extended B 10 more bullets more of the same debbufs and lastly specialty mags class specific for exemple tapped mags for assault or egineer, quick shorg for BR on recon, and drum mags for BR support this last catagory should have crazy nerfs/buffs to certain weapon aspects since they would change how you play with that gun

The expanded magazine should not have so many debuffs. Choosing the expanded magazine will result in a reduction in the total number of magazines, which is better.

Also why is the ak15 extended a (40) with less capacity but worse stats than the extended b (45) which has more rounds.

i know the MG36s extended mag can't hit a near side of a barn which is annoying cause i really like that gun and some feel like overly punishing for only like having 10 maybe 15 extra bullets

i mean just 15 bullets on RPK-16 for all those bad stats is kind of bonkers

also how does it make any sense that a drum is only 15 more bullets then a banana clip? like the MG36 drum probably should hold nearly 100 bullets then i'd get the debuffs

i think the easier way to say it would to take about 20% less of a debuff on every bad stat maybe more on the recoil or running speed up to the devs.

I think we need some new stats, or attachments utilising more of the existing stats. basically at this point the only attachment variety is "what recoil do I need?" rather than "do I want ads speed?" or "Do I want movement speed?" or "Do I want reload speed?"

i sort of gave my 2 cents on extended mags before but guess i'll get a bit longer explanation now

so i think first of all. all recoil and movement penalties should get yeeted. if you feel its absolutely necessary to have some recoil debuffs it shouldn't be any worse then the M4 quick mag
instead i would the downsides and upside be around mags carried and reload time. and increase or decrease depending on the percentage of bullet gained or losed
for example i think the MG36 drum mag should be 80 bullets cause just 15 extra is dumb and i think all drums should at least double your bullet count, but you get only half as many mags and twice the reload speed of normal mag. so you'd get only half the mags normally and if you were playing exo you would only have 2 mags if you picked MG36 drum mag and double the reload time
Ak-75 extended mag has 45 bullets so it would reload 33% longer and 33% less mags if it was exo have 3 mags instead of 4 i know Ak-74 isn't on exo its just an example to make things easier for me
and on the other end Ak-75 short mag with 20 bullets would reload 33% faster and 33% more mags on heavy armor would have 8 mags instead of 6
of course its not perfect i'm not sure if you should round up or down for the extra bullets when the percents don't line up exactly

The mag counts are small integers. Increasing / decreasing them by a certain ratio would not be very neat

Personally that seems a bit more complex than it needs to be and also more powerful

Larger mags for proportionally longer reloads is better, since you are not always in a situation where you should be firing

Personally I think what extended mags should change is move speed, aimdown time, run speed, reload time and draw speed, because those make sense. Which they already do, but currently they increase recoil which I think they shouldn’t
