#Change Medikit to restock bandages

I couldn't see a thread dedicated to this so here's one.

Change the medikit to work identically to Supports Ammo box.

The medic is a support class, so having it work the same as the other support class will add a lot of clarity and parity between them.

With the recent change to bandage speed, medic heals are no longer as prevalent as they used to be and I'm ok with that, let's just change the medic class's role to reflect the new functionality.

  • Hold to heal (same as currently, Support holds to resupply)
  • Throw on the floor to let others restock bandages (remove bandages from ammo kits)
  • Thrown Medikit no longer heals directly

This simplifies the flow and allows medic to have a scoring contribution to the team without getting bogged down healing individuals constantly, though that functionality is still there if required.

Additions from thread:

  • Possibly give Assault access to a small medit that just resupplies bandages

This will make medic more useful with these bandages changes, I like it

This is a good fix to "I dropped some bandage on the floor, but they bugged out and you can't see them".

#

Don't forget, Assault has small ammo box with two bandages in it

#

You could also just reduce the amount of bandages in ammo box/small ammo. 🤔

Technically yes, in the same way Support has, a medic can throw one box and keep the other, throw both boxes or throw none and just right-click heal, same as Support

coarse gulch
#

If anything, give assault a "small medikit" the same as the small ammo box

#

6 bandages or something inside instead of 30

#

6 bandages is a lot Pekora_Not_Ogey

#

Assault has 2 small ammo box with 2 in each. And I think it's already plenty

modest ginkgo
#

how about since medics are medics with this new medic suggestion medic consumes half a bandage to heal friendlies and half bandages for reviving. meanwhile healing self still consumes 1 whole bandage

coarse gulch
#

You're hitting a problem straight off if you do that, just in terms of complications

#

They've got plenty of bandages already, give them a restock that can also help the rest of the team.

#

No need to overcomplicate it

When I play assault, I give box and bandages. Doesn't run out often 👀

#

But why not, more option is good.

Assault would have to pick from ammo OR bandages if they're in separate boxes, which is good as it pushes choice

why cant we have a class that refreshes armor durability? is that game breaking?

weary olive
#

There's a lot of options to change armor. People have diverse opinions. And they all have pro & cons.

AoE heal is a terrible idea

#

Any healing that doesn't involve at least one player action is extremely bad

i meant in the context of changing up the assault class but yeah sorry not the right place

Revive nade>AoE Heal

Revive nade is also a terrible idea, sorry 😦

Revive nade, into suicideC4

Like mercy old ult from OW

Lobe the revive nade in the air, suicideC4 on the ennemy > Get revived by your own nade.

#

What if: medic box doesn't heal, but ressuply bandages on hold right click. And you basically just bandage allies to heal them?

coarse gulch
#

If medic had ~20 bandages in each box, but could only carry 10 on their person at any one time, I think you'd see a lot more boxes being used

weary olive
#

So you're like a pocket bandage refiller machine

I'm still ok with Medics healing over time

its not like bullets and grenades though, man, we're talking about healing here

coarse gulch
#

Currently medic has a high bandage load because there's no way to bulk-resupply them, ammo boxes only have 6 and pallets another 20 or so I think

#

If they had a bulk way of resupplying them, it may be preferential to lower the number they can actively carry.

steady hazel
#

nah, they medics. they just stuff that backpack full of em

coarse gulch
#

Both so at some point they have to dump a box, and so others can see the effect of the changeband actually get bandages

#

Instead of medics possibly just dumping a box, hoovering up all the bandages, then leaving it empty for others

#

How support resupplies go is something like this:

  • Support out of ammo
  • Throws down a box and resupplies
  • There's plenty left for others to resupply
  • Everyone benefits even though the Support was being self-serving

Medic box holding right click for 2s: Apply a fast healing DoT with a visual effect for the player => the buff would calculate missing HP as the state of pressing it at first time, apply buff to heal up to there) = If someone has 64HP, It'll put a healing buff to make them back to 100. But if they take damage later while still having the buff for example, 20 damage, it won't heal more than what it was told to. And therefore they'll be at 80HP.
This would make healing allies faster, so you don't have to stay on one guy too long.

#

Or you could juste make healing allies way faster too 💀

coarse gulch
#

And more importantly, similar or identical to other mechanics already in the game

#

I eat through bandages with the new change, having a class that could properly resupply then would be good

#

And I don't think Support or Assault should be able to provide heals (via ammo box), that's treading on Medics role too much.
