  • (gonna try to post this in 4 parts and hope it doesn't trigger the automod) . Piggy backing off of @wide venture's original idea, in a way,

So at the current state of battle bit affairs, people expect medic to want to heal, rez, buff the team. etc. Problem here? Well.. healing, whilst useful, is now pretty much redundant thanks to bandages being buffed, and most people would rather go to the respawn screen instead of praying for a rez. So as it stands, medic is basically having an identity crisis, being mostly compared to now as a debuffed assault or a simple "hold button" heal bot.

Whilst some say SMG medic would fix this (and others saying it wouldn't), I would like to attempt to in a different direction that hopefully offers an alternative, giving medic some sort of "healer" mechanics that he desperately needs.

Introducing the medkit's new left click function: The care package! (and also bump it up to 3 instead of 2 medkits right now, same as support so they actually have a use for dropping.)

The idea would be pretty simple, when left clicking the medkit, instead of self healing (cause lets be real bandages do that better now and medic has 20 of them) you'll get a supply kit that functions the same as the support's ammo box, having a limited amount of points (supplies) in them for medical purposes. From this, you would get certain buffs and bandages from the medkit drop. People probably have way better ideas than I do, but I will list some suggestions for the care package anyways and see how people react

  1. Bandages (same as heavy box, no explanation needed here) Add these to medic's new care package, and remove these from support/assault's boxes. To compensate for this change, give the support's heavy box the ability to replenish on trophies, C4, etc. (I know some of them can't be replenished, but I think it's time we make that possible for all gadgets. If gadgets need to readjusted because of this change, I am perfectly fine with that.)

  1. Adren shot (short duration buff) - I think there would be a few ways to go about this, since in games its focused on speed (usually). Obviously the easiest way to go about this is to grant a slight speed buff upon players using it in the med box, but given how polarizing some people see run and gun currently, I don't think that's the best option. A better option (imo) would be to allow for slightly improved capture times of objectives (including planting/defusing bombs in rush) when, and slower enemy capture times when defensively using adren to hold points. This would of course also be factored into how many people on both teams are on a point. I feel this would allow medic to have a use in the sense that they could pre-buff their team before recapturing a point, or before going in to defuse. There's probably going to be debate on how long this should last, but for sake of making a simple starting point:

32v32: 15 seconds
64v64: 30 seconds
127v127: 1 min

  1. Armor platelets (armor replenishment) - So I always wondered why you were able to heal yourself, but not replenish armor? (I mean yeah, exo is a joke in terms of balancing but that's for another suggestion thread.) but its just another factor that leads to design of "well fuck it, guess I'll go back to the respawn menu." So this one would be pretty simple. Allow for body armor to be replenished from the care package (and maybe just for the lols, if you replenish armor using exo, your armor gets turned into a clown suit for the duration of your life. Not expecting this part, but it would be funny.)

  1. Replacement Helmet (Helmet replenishment) - Same concept as for armor, we have a separate one for the helmet here. Allows you to obtain a replacement helmet if you lost yours during combat (and also just for the lols, if you replenish helmet using exo, your character face gets turned into the BBClown face for the duration of your life. Also not expecting this, but humor is cool ig.)

  2. MREs (short/life duration buff) - Alright let's get this sat onto a tray, nice!. I mean, it fits into a modern war setting the most (especially with that USAF deal). I know the "heal from medkits/carepackages" option was suggested for this, but I feel it's just pointless with bandages imo. Anyways, what could bagged vomlets, MRE pizza, (or whatever food you can think of) do when you eat them from these care packages? Increased range of VOIP/proximity voice. for a period of time, something like 2 min, or maybe for until the life ends and you hit the respawn screen. Yeah, your stomach growling can't keep you from focusing anymore. This probably would be redundant in servers where people are memeing around and playing music, but for the serious lobbies, I feel like being able to hear enemy callouts and act accordingly can mean the difference between life and death in these engagements.

Hopefully this isn't a "low IQ" suggestion from me, but I feel like medic is 100% overdue for some ways to support the team by buffing teammates, and not just being a dedicated heal/rez bot like some people want him to be.

i mean if you are gonna put armor plates or refill armor beter put it on support who needs it the most so they can give out or be selfish

My main thing is that people want medic to act as a medic, but currently has tools that are inferior to what other kits have for doing so. I think support fills enough of the void as someone known for filling up offensive gadgets/ammo. Let medic do the armor and healing part.

I was shooting around the proposal of a stim gun in my head similar to BF2042

But I honestly didn't feel like it would work or if it wasn't usable on the medic themself people would have a bitch fit.

I removed it yesterday, so the fact you got timed out today means it's not working.. And I have no idea why.. I'll investigate it again..

You always heal yourself 20 less compared to your teammates

There is a whole lot to unpack here (lol) so im going to do my best to just TL:DR this shizz.

  1. This deffs comes with a lot of nerfing for the trophy systems. Either a timer or limited uses and could implement a little blinking light on top of it that blinks green when fresh, yellow when its at half life and red when its about to run out.

  2. Instead of player speed (cause its pretty sensitive topic), you could have this shot reduce bleed threshold or even decrease ADS speeds (or even other stats as well like recoil reduction) and these effects could last 1 down, be x amount of time, or the rest of the players life. The better capturing is also an idea too.

  3. This is kind of out of place for a medic IMO. Armor has its issues i think need to be addressed before something like this can be added to the game regardless of its place on medic. Cool idea though.

  4. Same reasons for 3 are for this.

  5. This seems fun for people who will feel like they can get a use to this but honestly the first thing that comes to mine is people trolling with this added range (sure thats what mute button is for) but id rather not have to spam press it as much as i do already when someone very angry with a awful mic dies near or by me.

Instead of VOIP this could offer a very slow passive healing effect that is HP limited to only topping off hp ( like only the first 10hp) So if a player was hit below 90hp they wouldn't get the passive healing from this item. This would obviously not have any interaction with bleed cause bleed happens when a players hp knocked much below 90hp. These effects could last 1 down, be x amount of time, or the rest of the players life

PS. Nice SteveMRE reference.

I like adrenaline

#

but armour refills should be a support thing

#

And medic should be able to fully heal itself with bandages tbhe

#

The medkit is slower then using 2 bandages cause you have to swap to it

#

Medic is at a big disadvantage when it comes to self heal

#

Also doesnt help that all classes revive at the same speed now

#

Im pretty sure thats a bug

#

But it needs to be fixed either way

Yeah, that specifically would give even more of a reason to turn the medkit into a “heavy ammo box but for medical supplies”. Right now it just seems pointless to force self heal to the medkit when bandages do it better anyways.

Also whilst I’m here, if armor replenishment is also too polarizing, I wouldn’t be against the idea of general damage resistances instead in the form of something like pain killers.
