#Active Pinging System is Terrible

Who thought it was a good idea to make active ping system work through foliage and smoke grenades + force players that want to ping with white ping to have to go through a menu. There is no way this feature was thoroughly thought through, I'll put my life savings on it. I'm glad this was timed with the influx of new players, genius if you ask me...

Next steps:

  • **Allow for separate key binds for ping and command menu **-> makes entire system feel better rather than having to hold a button down and then be able to mark an obj or place a buildable. (I would like to ping with middle mouse but open command menu **instantly **with side mouse button for example.
  • Do not allow players to ping through smoke or foliage -> What we have now currently defeats the entire point of smoke grenades and encourages rat plays.
  • Fix command menu sensitivity, it feels like you're pushing your mouse across sandpaper

Probably missing lots of other things with it, feel free to add in.

Keeping the radial menu but still allowing for a single press quick ping would fix a ton.

I often try to tell people roughly where a shot was while trying to dodge and maneuver so a single press is vital

doesn't even need to be separate, they had it before where if you hit the ping keybind it would drop a white ping if there's no enemy and a red ping if there's an an enemy, just change the red ping for the BF style dorito and keep the white ping and l absolutely agree the radial menu sens is disgustingly sluggish my mouse is at 16000 DPI and l have to move it off my desk to select something it's actually really bad l can't imagine how bad it is for average 800 DPI players please fix this XD l never use it because of this

Yup, we need the quick ping back, and I need to be able to ping while ADS. There is a separate keybind for ping and the interaction menu, but currently you can only quick ping enemies and vehicles unless you stand still for 10 seconds and navigate the radial menu.

the new pinging system is what made the newer battlefield games terrible. pinging an enemy and the indicator following them is not fun. shooting at indicators is lame and people will just spam ping now to spot every enemy.

the game should go back to the old system of pinging a location, not a ping that follow an enemy player behind cover and foilage.

bummer. well the game was fun while it lasted, but i'm out. that pinging system is partly why i quit the bf games.

I was just able to get a lot of kills last night that I didn't deserve. I marked people in smoke and was able to shoot them. and enemies other players had marked i could see which corner they were about to peak based on the indicator. just kills it for me.

Hopefully community hardcore servers turn off the 3D ping, I was never a fan of it in BF either, thankfully it wasn't present in their hardcore servers
