Currently, medics and recon can face down an MBT.
This doesn't feel enkeeping with the spirit of the game - I think these classes should be prone, hiding, cowering and radioing engineers and supports in the squad to do something about it instead.
The addition of this new equipment item (in essence smaller c4 charges) which ought to be intended to be more effective against structures and soft vehicles, but make negligible impact vs MBTs and LAVs, would bring these classes more in line with their expected role on the battlefield.

Playing a class that doesnt have real c4 and having a tank sitting in the middle of a point that the rest of your team wont take care of would feel awful. It's already very difficult to get close enough to a vehicle with a competent driver to destroy them.
That sounds like a skill issue
Or you could be the change you seek in the world, and play engee or supp in order to deal with it
That isn't exactly a skill issue tbh, it's more of a "the enemy team did a good play, our team is not reacting to it in a proper manner(which they definitely could, a tank in the middle of the map is very vulnerable), and now we're losing"
which is not really different than the enemy team winning normally and it being hard for you to get kills because of it, so yeah, i agree on the proposed change
Which.. i guess counts as skill issue? Not really on your part though, more on your teamates' because if they somehow can't kill a tank in the middle of a point that's on them, even if the consequences affect you as well

isn't that the very fabric of a team-based game? isn't that why we're all here?
p.s. - the skill issue is 'it's already very difficult to get close enough to a vehicle with a competent driver to destroy them'
i feel like there is a lot of pushback against team work mattering lately, not sure why tbh, teamwork rocks
i know right
Can you explain how this is possibly a skill issue?
- tank in the middle of the point
- not hit by 3 tandems or 5 assault players with C4
basically this
Its not about teamwork mattering, its about making solo play less effective.
tanks basically only snipe nowadays because of how vulnerable advancing makes them
they would still be very vulnerable if less people had C4, but there would be less using C4 as better impact grenades
these two are kinda the same thing?
if teamplay matters, it automatically makes ignoring your team a worse option
by definition almost
You can reward both teamplay and solo play…
you can, by having a balance with how much you sacrifice one for the other, but making one stronger is inherently making the other weaker
how about you start with this bro
'it's already very difficult to get close enough to a vehicle with a competent driver to destroy them'
i have deleted so many MBTs as a recon and it makes me feel dirty because i recognise the name of the dude i just detonated - and i know they're more then compitent because i used to play with them way back in the playtests
No. This is only true if you care about winning. If you actually want to win teamplay is already 100% the way to go.
this is about balancing, and the fact is C4 is busted
Seems like those drivers sucked
ahahahaha
How to know someone is not arguing in good faith in 10 seconds
^

Cool, c4 is busted lets remove 3 classes abilities to counter the most annoying feature in the game.
annoying feature?
pal has never seen airspinning
bro just play something else if it's that big a deal
What? You want to change the game and youre telling me to play something else?
i get it you like being the medic jack of all trades
but all i'm saying is that dealing with armour should be assigned to a more appropriate class
most gamemodes have no tanks, lots of people play the ones that have them, but there's still people that play the ones that dont
we aren't saying "go play cod" like people do when you suggest maybe we need to change C4 or movement or anything like that, we are saying the same game you are playing has options to play without the feature you deem annoying
honestly it's not even dealing with armor, dealing with armor is fine, the issue is atm C4 works as a better, more reliable version of impact grenades that also wreck tanks and buildings, and are safer for the user
C4 at the moment is:
- Available to everyone
- Available in large amounts
- Easy as all hell to use
- Good against infantry
- Good against people behind walls
- Better and in many cases more plentiful than your grenades
- Good against all vehicles
- Very hard to counter
medics should have equipment which is tailored towards keeping your squad alive and in the fight or picking up fallen teamates.
recon should have equipment which is tailored towards dispatching infantry at long range and gathering intel on enemy positions and movements.
why should the classes being geared towards these very individually important roles be considered a controversial opinion?
@sand wagon your argument against this mere suggestion looks like it boils down to 'me want to be jack of all trades - get mad rezzing XP as well as farming MBTs'
instead of switching classes in order to deal with newly presented threats
Because at this point I'm convinced people get to level 50 without realizing you can click the other classes' select button lol
Like legitimately I've seen people be so against classes having any sort of individuality in some threads that you have to wonder if they just want their one class to have everything every class can have
unfortunately those people might be better suited to the operator system of 4042
