#To Improve Prestige

I think currently there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to incentivizing prestiging. With the upcoming skin update I imagine It will feel like there is a little more to grind for, but I think there are more improvements that can be made to the system.

These are in order of what I would like to see most to least.

Per-prestige Stats
If you only implement one of the suggestions in this thread, please make it this one.

I would like to be able to see my stats for the current prestige only. Ideally this would be implemented by having a page in the stats menu for each prestige, and one page for overall stats. This gives a nice way to track progress, as apposed to the current system that doesn't allow stats to change as you get better almost at all.

Cosmetics
A few ideas for more cosmetics that are unlocked each prestige, rather than with number of kills. These ideas are focused on giving a subtle yet noticeable (to other players) way to show off your progress to other players in game. None of these should be too in-your-face, things that, if a relatively knowledgable player saw, they would get an idea of how much time/effort someone's spent in game.

  1. Unique bullet tracer color for every prestige.
  2. Unique smoke color for every prestige. Ideally not super bright neon colors, just colors of smoke that you could expect to see irl.
  3. More character cosmetics locked behind prestiges.
  4. OW-esque golden guns. Each prestige a player can pick a gun to unlock a special skin for. Whether it's actually golden or not doesn't matter, ideally the skin would be something that is a little more noticeable than the current red and green skins that are unlocked at 3.5k kills.

Change Weapon Order Per-prestige
Changing the order you unlock weapons every prestige would make each one feel a little different, which is a good thing imo. There are many ways to do this, the simplest of which is just randomizing the order. I'm sure there are plenty of issues with completely randomizing it, but something like it would be very welcome.

This idea has the same feeling to it that New Game Plus from other games has. You replay the same content but with small differences to make it less of the same.

Yeah, people have been suggesting it for forever. It must just be super hard to implement or something

The gun unlocks are kind of all over the place. I would prefer a different system for unlocks although I'm not sure how that'd work

@quaint verge I saw that you were asking for input on prestiges in the subreddit so I though I would revive this old post. Specifically, things like Per-prestige stats can make it feel like it's worth it to prestige so that you can get a fresh start to see how much you improved since the last prestige.

I disagree with you because I haven't read the post

Sorry buddy, you lose

#

My ticket suggestion came back up as well

#

Someone made a nice tokens suggestion too

Bullet trancer colors is probably the worst idea on this list, so I fully support it

Make it so over accumulated XP that exceed the rank 200 xp cap to be used for ranking up next prestige, potentially shortened time spending ranking up.

So we don't have to start from 0 but starting from rank 15,20 or even 75,100 if playing long enough before prestige.

Honestly not the worst idea

#

Payday 2 started doing that because the game is objectively the best when you have all your options unlocked

You don't earn XP with the boost you get from the next infamy (prestige) level as the balancing factor
