I don't really understand why vault speed is so low; it takes a generation to get over one small barricade. As this game's goal is an Arcade-y game and not Hardcore/Milsim, increasing the speed on vault for higher distances or just making it constant would be beneficial for the games identity.

I do not want to increase base speed of, say, vaulting through a window at the same height as you (though, I wouldn't mind), but lowering the time it takes to jump over a fence, for example. The difference feels almost like double.

Fr movement inconsistency is one of the things that i most hate in games, it makes me dizzy af playing and it feels clunky

Honestly I wouldn't mind vaulting speed staying the same if they made it more consistent in general.

Having to try 3 and 4 times to vault through a window right in front of me and then getting shot to death while air strafing because the game decided since I touched half a pixel of some random lamppost I should magnetically latch onto it and spin around.

My work around it was rebind vault to a mouse button so I never die because it takes a year to jump through something

I think vaulting should have sound because we need to do things to reduce speedster playstyle effectiveness and hopping in and out of buildings is how they operate. Giving it a sound will make that style slightly less effective imo.

In general movement needs more distinct sound for sure. That and the distant gunfire for one of the vehicles just sounds kinda like running footsteps and it throws me off every time

Its not that vaulting is too slow, everything else is just too fast to the point where hitboxes cant keep up (proning or getting out of prone)

i would like to see, personally, the ability to bolt in a straight line very quickly, but not full control so you can't be as goofy in cqc;
More of a focus on cover to cover movement and flanking

I would be okay with the current speed if vaulting was context based instead of input based

For example,
Context Based: Walking towards an object then hitting space to hurdle.
Input Based: Standing still near an object and pressing space hurdles forward.

Yeah I'd like to see a bit of tweaking in when vaukting triggers for sure. Only reason i'm not immediately against vaulting speed being slow is it forces players to slow down a bit around enemy structures

Same goes for engineer class in terms of speed, but in this case its at least complements his class role

vaulting = death, has been my mentality with this game, no idea what the best movement speed fix would be though.

When in doubt, unbind vault and crouch jump around like it's Half Life.

I'd more like to have like a "hold space" to the full vault and just can jump on props when I can

i have separate bind for vault and jump so i know when to crouchjump and when to vault

The fact taht you can shoot your weapons more than makes up for the rather swift vaulting speed imo.
If the increase speed, at least remove ability to fire weapon while doing so.
