-Removing/nerfing bleed would make this game so much less tedious to heal and recover

-It would incentivize people to play other classes

-It would allow Engie, Support, Assault, Recon to play more smoothly

-It would help combat the frontline bleed/bandage loop so players can get back to shooting rather than spending valuable time having to bandage only to have to do it again right after

-It would make getting body tagged by any high damage rifle/ pistol be less tedious

-It would stop grenades from forcing bleeds and keep gameplay flowing and less congested

-It would remove the bleeding messages or make them less frequent, and stop the circle hit indicator from blocking vision

This is all I can think of from the top of my head please add any other positive effects of this change in the chat, or please debate the topic with equal amount or more reasoning to why it shouldn't be removed or nerfed. Thank you!

idk about removing it tbh it does force people to rethink tactics and positioning once shot so it does encourage that but it can be annoying at times i understand that but i think its a key feature in game or else everyone would charge in and be a genuine nuisance its also funny to hit a sniper and they bleed out because of their tunnel vision

  1. Removing it is flattening very interesting interactions the game offers. Hard no.
  2. It can be very annoying in some situations. Should never happen from fall damage, for example.
  3. People should have an option to minimise bleed by trading something. Armor is one such existing game feature that could modify bleed thresholds with the obvious tradeoff being speed.

Below 10% hp, bleed heal is normal speed as it is right now
11-25% hp, bleed is 20% faster than normal speed

All I can say is, I would only make the bleed start if you get less than 20% HP. For example after a hard collision with an enemy. The bleed procs from spitting in your direction are really annoying.

How does bleed stop this from happening. People don't have to bandage its a choice. Bleed starts at a relatively healthy amount of HP so they have lots of time to run around still and create havoc. Ive seen it with my own eyes someone who is bleeding continue onwards and kill multiple enemies before stopping their own bleed and moving on.

-Threshold is already pretty low on 40-30 HP and tick after like ~15-20 seconds. No need to lower it even further as either way it's reached in 2-3 shots.

-Faster bandaging change will already make the gameplay more smoother for other classes as it will reduce the downtime between action. As mentioned earlier it also slows down the gameplay and limits all players from going on a spree. You have to do more than super fast reactions in favour of good positioning.

-Bleeding message is not a problem, would rather say sometimes it's hard to spot. Same for circle. Can stay or be changed in a minor way. I'm not bothered by it.

-If you are in a close range of a grenade and you survive, you should be bleeding.

Counterpoint: just because a mechanic is in a milsim game doesn't inherently mean it shouldn't be included.

Personally I like the bleed mechanic because I can't handle games that have absolutely 0 points in the gameplay loop where I have to slow down, or think about tradeoffs I need to make.

It also does stop people from just running & gunning the entire game without being forced to disengage at some point.

Does it need to be 100% accurate to real life? Fuck no. But just because it's a mechanic in milsims doesn't mean it's inherently bad.

  • Threshold for bleed is 50hp, ignoring armor. The bleed ticks down instantly at 1hp/s. So you are incorrect here.

  • Having good position sure is a good attribute but I dont know about you but spawning and instantly bleeding is not fun in the slightest. You don't have a choice really to spawn if your teammates are in a difficult position. The alternative is at the closest objective, which sometimes is a fair distance away from any action, which downtime is bad for any game.

  • Bleeding message is a problem for me it personally distracts me from looking where I want to go, and enemies that im trying to shoot at because its directly in my LOS in some cases.

  • The red circle, along with the bleeding message should have a opacity bar so I dont have to see it if I dont want to. I find these things very distracting to me.

 - It seems like almost every event that causes you to take dmg and not die causes a bleed, in my opinion this should be lowered. (fall dmg, explosive radius blast effect etc.)

If everyone can bandage faster then what allure do players have to play medic and use the kit that it provides. This change would not change anything about players playing at a fast pace at all, just that they will be playing different classes this time.

 - Bleeding has been one of the biggest problems this game has been faced with, its a poorly optimized system that often time fails to make sense (ie some falls cause bleeding dmg and others dont).. I think if anything personally they just remove bleed but thats a contreversial take

I agree that bleed shouldn't be just removed. I feel like there's inherently issues with the bleeding being so high HP. In more situations than not I think the bleeding would still occur. Its actually a positive feature IMO because if the bleeding were to start later, than people who normally run around all the time would surly understand they're about to die, instead of continuing to run around for almost a minute before stopping the bleed out.

Right I agree with this, but don't you think that in situations getting body tagged by a sniper (who should be headshotting you) benefit by stopping you from going anywhere to bandage a bleed, followed by 2 more bandages to full heal. If you're getting shot by a sniper and dont bleed i feel like it would make things more of a choice to either risk running and bandaging vs actually just instantly trying to help themselves because they're low hp.

Something i bought up is what if guns have different bleeds, OR bleeds have tiers of intensity based on how low you are. Letting yourself be super low means a higher than normal bandage time, but stopping a bleed at higher hp means its faster. This would make getting bleed off spawns less annoying from stray bullets, and make deliberate bleeding from someone getting 3 shots on you and surviving be more intense.

I almost exclusively play frontline and dom. In frontline its very bad to spawn in sometimes. Id say about 20% of your deaths are instantly dying or dying before you can react to a spawn, due to having to hide instantly cause of bleeding and being 'Stuck' in a bad spot. But there are no other spawn points close by to any action so you kinda have to if you don't want a half mile hike lmfao

Bleed is not that bad on bigger maps, but on maps like frugis, tensatown azagor its a huge frustatrion on frontline

This is how Hunt: Showdown has its bleed. This is something id like. The wordings diffrent but different game, but i think it gets to the point

Yeah essentially my point. You die quicker if you allow bleeding to really get you low enough, but this would be outside the relm of even a sniper tag, so under something like 10-15hp would be a heavy bleed. Med bleed would work the same way as it does now and be from 16-29hp lets say, and the light bleeding effect would be from 30-50hp and bleed is slower tickrate

Regardless of the exact threshold, the general idea would be to make bleeding more severe & punishing, but only after a higher dmg threshold to actually incentivise people to disengage and deal with bleeding and remove the more annoying aspects of bleed spam

Bleed as a mechanic is good, the way bleed works could be better/altered to accomplish it's objectives better

The bleeding tiers also are really good indicators for players to continue to shoot if they notice they're only light bleeding, and to really GTFO if they're in a heavy bleed situation. Very beneficial to attentive players.

I tried looking for a hunt showdown bleed video but i cant find one, it has like levels of dripping sounds from the blood and the frequency is faster of them. Very cool

Yep, I play hunt and the bleed mechanics in that game are excellent
