Allow both primary and secondary options in the same caliber to use each-others bullets.
Add a button like “load into primary” or “load into secondary” and the bullets are then loaded into the empty magazines of the other weapon akin to consolidating mags
I know this idea could be horrendously broken but I like the idea of pushing the ammo management system further and this is the best idea I had

Give a little pocket ammo pack for meds and assault
