What if you could use the same button you use to stabilize your sniper rifle to get a slight zoom with your iron sights?
When doing this you gain a 1.5x zoom with your iron sights, this would be limited just like sniper stabilization.
The idea behind this is that iron sights are supposed to be useful at most ranges (at least irl), but unfortunately they are just worse red dots in the game rn, so with that temporary zoom option you would have more of a reason to use them or at least not feel like your actively put at a disadvantage against red dots and scopes.
I know this won't make them the meta choice but it'll certainly help to make them less of a nuisance to use for the first 5 kills with a new gun.

Iron sights are just the cheaper option to optics. What makes you think they're better at range than a red dot apart from maybe the red dot not being zeroed properly
