As for the niches, for certain guns like the STG-44, could be an intermediate Assault Rifle for people that like to rush the point. Much like the other guns do.

If I remember correctly--I'll have to look into it again--The FG42 was an LMG.
LSWs/LMG wise the question would be how to make the FG42 & co differ from each other while still having a good niche or role they fulfill
It was a paratrooper gun I do recall
forgot the classification (FG42 is WW2, so classifications were more role based rather than caliber)

I will say that I do have an idea that could possibly be pitched for the NTW-20.
Could probably be more suited as an equipment weapon to use as a deterrent for armoured vehicles.
It was used as an anti-material rifle much like the M82A1.
And against infantry?
Against infantry, it could work, but movement speed would be severely punished with it.
For an idea, I feel like the NTW-20 as a balancing plan, could be used only if crouching or prone, but damage is high ie one-tap torso from most ranges.

Rate of fire would be slowest out of any other sniper, velocity similar to SSG because it's such a large bullet, anti-vehicle damage could be something along the lines of 1 shot or 2 shot for light armoured vehicles and 4 or 5 shot for heavy armoured.

Classes that would get access to it would be a little tricky, but because its main purpose is anti vehicle, so the engineer class would probably be the best option.
Velocities for the NTW would be similar to the SSG rifle.

Scope access is a little tricky because it depends on the niche of usage.

I think to prevent that quick of a destruction, the time it takes to equip it would be better off having it related to being a gadget weapon.
Having it as a primary would be quite quick for the heavy vehicle to be destroyed.

STG could act as a very slow firerate weapon with above average damage stats and recoil control.
I'm not familiar with FG42, so I don't have much to say besides good performance held back by a small mag. I know it as an LMG, but research says it's a Battle Rifle.
The FG42 typically has a 25 round magazine and a high caliber of bullet.
I agree with that possibility for the STG
FG42 fires an above average sized cartridge IRL compared to other Battle Rifles, but it tends to have small mags. The upside and also downside at the same time for it is the high cyclic rate

I think oki is trying not to put many historical weapons in the game so fg42 and stg might not be coming.

I think oldest we got is the FN Fal at 1951 esh
on the list we got the sks at 1949 if I recall
We might get modernized versions if they exist. Sks modernized does exist although cursed as it is.
I just want a tac 50. something that really brings a punch but has rapid falloff as in very steep bulletdrop
