It is pointless with map size
I don't think it would be pointless
I feel like a default overlay with a grid would be useful, that way they don't even have to scale the grid per map. The only difference would be the area per square
such a great idea .
For the future we can then say: Squad Leader, Requesting Airstrike on coordinates 87,34 - spotted several snipers on that hill

This combined with map pinging would be great for squad leaders

This could easily scale with so many intel relaying options later. Example: Grid + ability to just highlight/outline a square
Yeah I think it'd help a ton for coordination, I see it helping a lot for people camping objectives. One thing I hate the most is explaining where an enemy rally is and the best way to describe it currently is "south of D in the woods" or wherever it is.
Plus it's not a direct gameplay change if implemented
This is a great idea, as an Ace of Spades player I am accustomed to shouting out stuff like "incoming at D4". Really hard to communicate a position on the map without it.
