Would be so neat as a feature. I think I've seen it requested a few times, but I cannot find any thread about it.
Would be so beneficial because you, as a low level can try out weapons you don't have access to, or if you're flanking and run out of ammo. The clients already detects other people's loadouts and camos etc, so it should be able to drop them on the floor with attachments and camo intact.

Personally I would disagree as it would strip a bit of what is behind the classes
also I image it would cause several people to start going XYZ when they get a hold of something (example support + sniper rifle or when the MG3 gets added, image a assault + MG3 for afew seconds)

i think we should have a standard running speed for all classes , the running speed is getting alot of abusive benefits

iirc its just a tough mechanism to add
worth noting that games that implemet kit switching (battlefield atleast), you pick the whole kit not just the primary gun. so your class and gear changes too

theres alot of stuff i know about this game 👀
even in legacy (2016-17 BBR) you couldnt pick up guns
last i checked (ill need to load it up later to see)
but at that time ammo drops were placed around the map
not coming from the sky
