#Civilian NPCs at or near caps / Civilian rescue gamemode

As the title says, it would be cool to see some non hostile NPCs at some of the urban environments or near the cap areas. I'm more thinking about CSGO and how they had hostage rescue game modes where the Civilians would have to get cleared out by 1 team and moved from Location A to the safezone.

Whether they are killable or not is something that I am not too sure on and would probably think is more appropriate for the devs to make a decision on.

Maybe they could be implemented at all gamemodes and if you shoot at them you lose points from what you get in game idk, but its still a cool feature to see in game.

I'm Also pretty open to other variations of implementing them in a palitable way where it would make sense to what this game is about.

I mean, you could also make them as dummies that soak up damage and hand out -200 points per hit. There's many non AI ways of implementing them. even if its all just immobile objects as part of the map idk.

You could think of them as like cows and sheep in Minecraft. It makes the Caps or buildings less Liminal and more lively

i think a 32 vs 32 vip mode would be fun.

Or how about the ability to “medevac” players in helis like drag downed players into heli before reviving them or attach downed players to a heli rope, then lift him into the heli. And when a downed player is brought to base, he get’s instantly revived.

no? only 1 team would have a flag/vip and giving the defenders 30-40 seconds to set up would be cool with no or a high point limit

Camp with a sniper player. Over voice chat, coordinate what building he wants to move to next. Then guide him there safely.

Why would you want this? It's CTF with more steps, and way more work on the devs. People already don't play CTF.

last night i had a really intense match in one of the desert city maps, idfr the name, and it was making me think of this too; the sheer chaos of running through buildings in the block-by-block combat and i thought itd be cool as all hell to have civilians you arent supposed to shoot while this is all happening but it led me to a conundrum at the same time:

  • what is an effective penalization system for killing them, if any at all?

cause users are invariably gonna go around machinegunning civilians for literally no reason

when the kinda chaos im looking for is stuff like: enemy is on opposite side of the street and i cant hit him because theres civilians in the way, do i just not take the shot because hitting the civilian will penalize the player (not team) or if not then they serve no purpose
