Still confused about reason Support gets both options, is there any hidden advantage with the small kit regarding movement speed or something? If not, just remove it since it's just a noobtrap.

Cross posting from another thread: I always wished the medkit was something that if a medic used it you could run up to them (the medic) and hold a button to heal yourself and it would consume a charge of the medkit. I was hoping that's how support was going to work too and that there would be a button you could press to find a nearby medic/support and alert them to you so you could meet in the middle instead of 1 person chasing the other.
Then you could have another gadget that replicates what we currently have

Support definitely needs a reason to use the small ammo kit. It could be something like being able to throw it “into” a player and instantly resupply them, but obviously at the cost of getting rid of one, but you would be able to carry more.

a idea with the ammo kits

  1. Remove the capabilities of carrying multiple
  2. make it so whatever would add to it's slot count instead increases the amount it holds accordingly (So if you would spawn with 1, you get 1x, 2 2x and so on)
  3. allow support to pick up his own ammo kits so he can move them

you can only pick up your own box and every gadget slot increase acts as a multiplier

#

so say a box holds 100 at 1 gadge slot, at 3 it would be 300 (and it would keep the current you can feed ammo to people for free system)

Ahh. I get it now. So I have no objections to this in the sense that I like support and this is a buff to it, but I also like the simplicity of the system, so I would be fine with keeping it as is.

#

aye I get that

#

The main reason for this idea is the fact it lets you recover your box rather than dropping it & potentionally just wasting it compared to the current setup

Light Ammo Kit is balanced with Assault but such a bad decision for Support. Heavy Ammo Kit is better in every way, which it should be.

#

My best idea is to let Support carry a shitload of Small Ammo Kits if they choose it. I'd say give Support +2 Small Ammo Kits.

#

Support with Big Backpack would have 3 Heavy Ammo Kits or 5 Small Ammo Kits if we did this. That would be a much more interesting choice.

Maaaaybe small ammo kit could get faster animations. It feels sluggish to use. Makes sense for the large one, but giving small one faster equip/unequip and deploy speed would give it an actual advantage. Would also fit better in the faster paced Assault's toolkit.

Since the increase in overall bandage amount, perhaps the ammo kits could get an increase in the amount of points they have available for bandage resupply?

I have some ideas for both the ammo kits. I think that both the large and small ammo kits should work the same way as the med kit. You should be allowed to resupply others with right click and yourself with left click. Then you can press X I believe, and toss the ammo kit on the ground for its normal use like the med kit.

#

Then for some uniqueness between the two ammo boxes I think what they resupply could be different. I noticed that the ammo kit resupplying only effects ammunition. What if the small ammo kit resupplied just ammo really quickly while the large ammo kit resupplied all items at a very slow rate?

I think that any self-action (healing self with medkit in hand, the concept of resupplying self with ammo in hand) isn't a good idea because it's a selfish action. As a medic when you're sitting there healing yourself, you're not contributing much to the team. There's also that goofy crap that was mentioned before about extremely aggressive medics running around while healing. If the medic has to place down his box to heal himself then it also benefits the team. The way Support is now is basically how it should be, where in order to dip into his own supplies he needs to drop the box. Introducing the ability to self-supply will just promote supports to top themselves off rather than have to drop their box and share.

The only mechanic designed around this is bleed, where it's meant to take you out of the action for a bit. I personally don't like it but I can atleast see why it's there, and teammates can help with that so there's still some possible teamplay.

I do think the small pack should be fleshed out more into it's own unique thing rather than just an inferior big pack though.

Buff the support ally resuply speed, not to the point getting ammo from the box is but definitely faster than it is now

Small kit is ok on assault, but Id like if it either let you take more equipment out of it or that you got more of them to throw. I still want to hoard them for myself for when I need rather than when everyone needs them and wouldnt just drop one on request. And you still dont get xp for somone else resupplying from them.
I'd like 1 more Heavy box otherwise it seems fine.
I'd like to be able to get more Ammo boxes and Medkits from (air) supply drops. Pretty much the only reason a support should be at an air drop is if they're out of ammo boxes and cant refill themselves.

An armor box might be a nice addition for Assaults.

# hollow vapor I vote armor box on support

I'd be ok with it on support but only if it brought them up to normal armor, not full exo if equipped or if they only got 1 extra armor out and others classes got more.. I dont want 3x health juggernauts if you get what I mean.

Otherwise I would say make it a progress bar for armoring yourself up at least

Let engineers fix armor.

Medics heal, supports resupply, engineers could fix armors

#

Assaults do nothing. They play singleplayer

I would like the option to pick up the large ammo box again, just like the Medic box can be, seeing as Supports get only 1 box, dropping, makes then new right-click to fill system worthless, as they cannot do it after they have dropped it.

I played support a bit yesterday, only had 1, once I dropped it, it was gone.. Bearing in mind, I don't play support much, maybe I had the wrong kit

#

I think the amount of boxes depends on the armor you're wearing

lean turret
#

Ahh, I see.. Then, as a non-support player, this makes sense, I did wonder why it was like that..

Fair enough

Remove the small ammo kit and change it to utility box allows you to resupply armor and equipment. Holding right click for support should reapply allied armor and placed should have armor slot 1 and both equipment slots as 2 and 3 but no ammo or grenades. and if you want to make things more complex then make large ammo lose its ability to resupply equipment ie (launchers, grapples, etc) This would incentivize supports to have a more distinct reason for 1 or the other keep the small ammo for assault or give them the utility box so they could have a more armor aggression / survivability

Increase the resuply speed, its ridiculously slow rn

i think that when throwing a heavy ammo box on the ground it should be free and easy for teammates to get resupplied right now no one like having to individually choose a player to resupply. this still adds an element of realism because the player must interact with the box to be able to get resupplied.
