About 600 kills into the ultimax
I think its pretty decent already, its a longer range, lower damage alternative to the m249, easier to control and pull off headshots compared to the 249, but slightly lower damage
Its fairly effective against helicopters which is nice, but its velocity makes it a bit unpredictable and difficult to hit them unless they are flying stupid.
It could be a little lower recoil, and the damage falloff could be a bit longer so that you can do more than annoy people at extended ranges, but overall the performance is fine, I prefer it to the 249
Overall retuning it would depend on what the other planned support weapons are supposed to be doing to find its niche.
Might need a higher firerate and/or velocity to compensate for lower damage.
i think it just needs a few things
-less fall off
-less fist shot kick
-a slight fire rate increase
-slight velocity increase
-bipods are worthless ( this is a whole lmg thing tho)
Also it depends where flinch ends up, LMGS require some sort of disruption to the folks they are shooting at as statistically they are bad
Also I really like the combination of lower ROF and the big magazine, when you're holding a corner with it you can keep people from peeking for a loooong time
long enough that their ADHD kicks in and they lean out before the magazine is empty XD
I expect this niche to be taken up by the m60 when its implemented and this one becomes the really low recoil controllable one or something
takes 10 years to pull out this weapon when you're holding something else
300 kills on both LMGs, this gun does have a good niche of being suppressive and low recoil to the point of actually being useful with a slip and bipod. However, this LMG does not feel like it's worth the trade compared to the m249's better capabilities in ROF and vertical recoil. I believe it's better off following in the aug's footsteps with lower vertical and first shot recoil, and a better reload to be the ultimate sustained fire weapon.
try vert grip + tactical muzzle, no side rail
that's half of my kills, I like it but I want to like it more esp when m249 can run the same gear and be even more punishing for those pushing a lane
maybe equipping the bipod could do something like extend its range or increase its long range min damage but slows you down, idk, just being super stable and its better at all ranges
the benefits bipod gives isn't bad
it just doesn't need the downsides
considering you give up your grip
the downside is you mostly need to be prone and standing there like a turkey
Opportunity cost
currently the bipod just locks you into a more static playstyle, and considering how many sniper rifles are about
that is kinda not great by any means
Genuinely feels like a good side-grade to the M249. Very consistent at medium to long range and suffers at close range comparatively. The fast reload often throws people off in CQB, which can be used to your advantage if you know how to play it right. Given the real life nature of this gun, I feel like it should have much better ADS speed and movement speed stats, since it's very lightly built. The slower rate of fire should remain, in my opinion, but it's incredibly easy to land consistent headshots even at longer ranges.
Over-all the weapon is largely let down by the other shortcomings of the support class (exo armor being more of a burden than it's worth, abysmal movement speed across the board, etc). Until the class as a whole is fixed, I don't think the U-100 will receive the attention it currently deserves.
i would love the recoil and first shot kick to be lowered a bit (~10%-15%), been using it stock lately, so I'm not sure the magnitude attachments affect this gun's recoil
I have around 700 kills with this gun. Around 500 kills with m249 and I like this gun more than m249. It got recoil of m4 so it really low and controllable. It only have higher first shot kick but if you start shooting by aiming at leg it is pretty good. Lower rof also help the recoil more and better ammo economy.
Dps is not terrible. Only downside that kinda annoying is the draw speed. But it a Lmg so you don't suppose to switch weapons that often.
lower the first shot multipler to 1.0, maybe lower vertical recoil to 1.4 or 1.3
This gun really just kills too slowly. If the M249 could be likened to the M4A1, then this one could be likened to the AUG, but it kills slower than the AUG and unlike it, it has no aimdown time advantage and not much of a reload speed advantage. I think a bit of a buff to this gun is in order.
Enjoying the gun, it's underclocked currently and could do with a mild buff, specifically to bullet velocity and maybe a touch of controllability to fit it for it's role as a medium-long range support weapon
In other feedback, playing support currently is suffering due to moment speed penalties, the additional HP doesn't even come close to filling the gap
When modded with verticle grip and tacticle barrel, gun becomes a laser beam. I would say current fits a niche role of med to long range LMG. I will say the first shot recoil needs a bit of tuning. Lowering it down from 2 to 1.5 or even 1.0 is a good change for the gun overall. Otherwise, its a fine gun and has its role to fulfill.
Yea I agree, if 0 was the baseline for a "good" weapon it's currently sitting at -0.5
Supporter Class:
The Supporter class, as the name suggests, is primarily focused on providing assistance to the team. This includes weapons like the MG Ultimax 100 and M249, which should come with supportive abilities such as fire suppression. However, the Supporter class currently feels sluggish, leading to a more defensive playstyle.
In terms of damage output, the weapons seem reasonable, but their recoil management is not very suitable. One major issue seems to be the ineffectiveness of bipods. Integrating functional bipods could greatly enhance the Supporter class, especially for players who prefer a stationary playstyle.
Overall, the concept of the Supporter class is intriguing, offering a unique role on the battlefield. However, improvements are needed in terms of mobility and recoil control. Additionally, enhancing the utility of bipods could effectively cater to players who enjoy a more stationary approach to the game. With these adjustments, the Supporter class could become a valuable asset to the team, both in offensive and defensive scenarios.
This reads like an off-topic chatgpt explanation was modified to be roughly about the support class in battlebit
Lovely gun good upsides with a warranted trade off
Possibly up the base damage by 0.5?
Idk why ppl love using bipod this game. Use vertical grip literally have the same recoil as prone bipod.
After the nerf bipod is only for long-range scope sniper only
according to my ttk calculator that would make it somewhere between 0 and 0.0005 seconds faster ttk :)
as in, the difference (if any) doesn't even show up to 3dp
Ttk isn't quite everything, you definitely don't hit all your shots with this thing
Accuracy does not make a difference to this
0.5 more damage will still not make any change.
However this implies the long barrel would also do 0.5 more damage, so I can see if there’s any change there
would ya look at that, it boosts long barrel ttk by 0.006 seconds
Ttk is absolutely everything to sub-middle school level math statisticians, lol
i think the ulti should have a quick mag that makes it have 50 rounds instead of the 100 but makes it reload faster and gives a quicker movement speed
All support weapons are outclassed in every role. Fix bipod. Add more suppression mechanics
TL;DR: IRL Ultimax 100 Mk3 user during service in Singapore Armed Forces. My suggestions are:
- Implement 30 round mag, lock 100 round mag behind upgrade.
- Recoil rework: Most full-auto firers denote near-complete lack of recoil after initial burst of rounds. Completely understand if this is never implemented for balance reasons.
- [Audio only] Remove bolt travel sound when firer pushes the charging handle back to front after reloading with no round in chamber. The Ultimax 100 is open bolt, and its bolt only travels forward when the trigger is pulled.
Game has been epic so far, hope to see it grow ever further.
IRL Ultimax user here, was assigned the Mk3 version of the Ultimax during my service in the SAF. That version didn't have pit rails, and had an extremely basic (albeit removable) stock. I like what the team has here, an amalgamation of different versions while keeping it somewhat realistic, as with many other weapons in the game.
My suggestions here will be based on my 1 year + experience with this weapon during my service, and providing some insight into its real life aspects that may help with balance/immersion.
Currently, the 100 round drum mag is default on this weapon. While there is a 100 round drum mag for this LMG, what actually was used in training were modified M16 30 round mags (as the SAF used M16s before switching to the current service rifle, the SAR-21), where two holes were drilled onto the left feeding lip of the mag. As modern versions of the Ultimax do take STANAG mags, I imagine that a 30 round mag can easily be implemented by lifting the M4A1 mag model (or other similar AR style mag models) and dropping that in. Thus, the 30 round mag can be the new default, and the 100 round mag can be locked behind a level upgrade.
While I've never mag-dumped the Ultimax during the duration of my service, most firers who have done so report that little recoil is felt after the initial burst of rounds. I completely understand if a recoil rework where the Ultimax loses its recoil after holding down the trigger long enough is never implemented for balance reasons, but I feel that it is a opportunity worth looking into for a realism game mode.
Lastly, an audio adjustment. The Ultimax 100 is an open bolt weapon. After pulling back on the charging handle, the bolt only travels forward when the trigger is pulled. Thus, the current audio clip where the bolt sounds like it travels forward together with the charging handle can't happen. Thought the dev team would like to know about this.
Once again, epic work with the game, hope to see it continue growing.
high first shot recoil but low recoil other wise just feels like an attempt at doing the whole inverted bloom and recoil of other games. the issue is that the gun feels like it was intended for a longer range but the firerate of the m249 still makes it feel smoother and the reduced horizontal recoil and increased accuracy of the ultimax doesnt make up for the accuracy-by-volume that the m249 has
part of the issue imo is a misunderstanding of how recoil is actually felt. recoil can be conceptualized of as an upwards acceleration experienced whenever a bullet is fired followed by a lack of acceleration afterwards. humans can compensate for a steady acceleration rather easily but a change in acceleration is harder. this called jerk and is the derivative of acceleration. when a gun shoots fast enough our perception of it approaches something akin to it feeling as though a smooth and continuous force is applied but a gun that shoots slower has sudden jumps in where it is aiming
na 30 round should be locked behind kills because its is a LMG not a LSG in game. would make no sense for it to have the one thing LMGs class is made for locked behind kills.
I sort of like the idea of high first shot recoil then low shot to shot recoil, keeps you firing
Gun is very underrated imo, it's similar to the Aug in that it's very effective but as low sheet dps.
Imo only change needed is reducing first shot recoil(down to under 1.25), along with bringing its drawspeed in line with other guns in the game.
Its very slow both aiming and walking for a fairly light light machine gun, i wish it were a little bit faster aiming down sights but else, its fine
Reduce 1st shot recoil, increase damage veeeeey slightly, increase controllability slightly
It needs one of any of small buffs in any of these categories to become a generalist lmg. fits its neiche of close range (<100m) and is a beast when it comes to it but suffers outside it but only one buff and it would probably be perfect as a general middle ground lmg (decent at everything), however if a long range gun like m60 is ever added to be slow firing heavy damage longer range then don’t change it or revert as it suffers do to its lack of generality. Suggestions +control 0.1 damage/raise max through attachments to .90, would effectively become a laser beam if low damage (meh ttk but easy to aim). falloff start needs to be extended by somewhere between 25-100m currently on most maps on 127 70% of your l fights you effectively do half to min damage unless you only mosh pit middle point. Damage increase by 2
i dunno if its just me but when i use the Ultimax in a game the recoil feels nice and manageable but the next game its all over the place. like when you start a new round it removes all the bonuses from your attatchments
I tried the ultimax and this is the worst KD I've got since I was a brand new player
this gun is literally the worst I've ever seen, for me. Most of those kills weren't even with the gun
its certainly not for using like a big smg
That is very much not how I used it
I suppose it would be much better with a decent sight but still, it took most of the game to unlock the first one. Couldn't see the enemies at all while firing
will say this, I wish more guns had a default short sight of some kind (first 5 kills is always the most painful for me)
I'm using it with a medium scope, with a red dot on top, but before that it was just the regular red dot, it takes some getting used to
gave it another shot and it turned out much better, I guess having better sights just makes that much difference? Though perhaps Salhan was much better suited to the gun than District. It's weird how low recoil guns seem to do best in CQC oriented maps.
gun isn't as bad as I presumed.
Not a bad gun but gets outclassed by the more versatile m249 imo. Higher firerate usually just feels better to me, but maybe others like the lower firerate
I've been trying to tell this to supp players for a while, the gun is really good. It has 0.65 hor recoil and it's vertical is easy to control. It's sheet DPS is low but you can just pour shots into heads, very much like the aug.
It just needs its draw speed normalized and it's first shot kick reduced to like 1.25 or something and it'll be a very strong gun.
LMGs in general could also benefit from getting their muzzle velocity slightly higher, similar to the aug, if no other buffs occur.
high muzzle velocity to help with shooting helicopters
yeah, like with a lot of guns, the ironsights are just practically unusable. ||and also new district is just kinda shite ngl||
It needs an acog or similar, it's very much a midrange gun and requires some unlocks to be viable
But boy, when you have 4-5 enemies flanked in a line, it's just about the only gun that will eat them all and still have some to give
It just the gun is a different playstyle than high RoF guns. It slows RoF combine low recoil make you hs easier and is make up for low DPS.
On same recoil lower rof equals to easier to control gun before another recoil kick in
It's supposed to but does it way worse than the aug and generally worse than the sg550
with the wide availability of pretty meaty drum mags its niche can be done better by other guns without the massive speed issues support has
however IMHO it does feel good, but the skill floor for it is higher than the 249 for sure
if you aren't slapping those headshots its pretty inferior
it have better recoil than aug or sg550 though
What?
You mean horizontally?
Horizontal is what make you miss longer range. And vertical recoil is super easy to control.
The gun literally has m4 recoil stats
my setup is slip+red dot, no side addon, minimize the combination of recoils, tactical barrel if i'm moving around a lot or short silencer if i'm expecting to hold a position and dont want the flash to help people zero in on my exact spot
it's significantly lower overall, considering fire rate
even factoring the first shot kick imo
Yet ppl still thought it have terrible recoil
Just aim at the leg then the kick will make your shot aim to the head
I baffle me how ppl still think the recoil is too much when m4 is laser lol
from personal experience, because of a skill issue.
if they are inexperienced at shooters then lower recoil seems much higher. I've watched gameplay from very good players and the recoil is a whole other world from mine
I'm constantly confused here and in the support thread
I dont consider myself to be some god tier gamer but apparently I roll with the worst loadout humanly possible and still end up 2.2-2.5:1 kd so I must be great or something >.>
It just ppl is weird don't worry about it
if you just remember that most people playing this game are squirrels and both forget you are there the second you leave their line of sight, and get bored when you suppress them and lean into your stream of fire, you will stack up bodies, lol
I think I will try to get slip scope for this gun, wonder how that'll feel on it
4x is too much zoom to the point where I don't feel I can hit further from 75m, also reduced situational awareness
----- Ultimax -----
• Increase reload speed by 10%.
• Reduce first shot kick from 2.0 to 1.5.
• Reduce vertical recoil from 1.5 to 1.1.
• Increase ads speed from 0.35 to 0.3
• Increase runspeed from 0.9 to 0.925
Solid changes to the recoil. Actually a laser gun now with lower first shot recoil and vertical
good changes, ultimax still has an inane switch time though
Ehh, it's got to have some downside
You shouldn't be fast weapon switching as support
this guy here did some tests
https://www.reddit.com/r/BattleBitRemastered/comments/1544z1c/ultimax_100s_draw_speed/
1.71s vs the m249's 0.68s draw time
150% difference is absurd
I can see having a slower draw speed, but having a 150% difference in the same weapon class doesn't make sense.
Either nerf the M249's draw speed or buff the ultimax's.
Stats don't need to make sense, is videogame
ultimax's trade off is firerate for more controllability, having draw speed be the dump stat of this gun is a strange way of balancing it
from the looks the switchtime of those two should be switched
the dif doesn't make sense
It actually make sense in some way. Here my train of thought.
M249 is more like a frontline lmg where you can be a bit more aggressive with it. So it have more dps and lower draw time.
But Ultimax is more like a backline support gun. Low fire rate and recoil can make it effective camp choke point. Now with even lower recoil buff confirm my theory. So to keep at backline it got lower dps and long draw time so you have to play more defensive.
ultimax is the better gun, m249 guys want a big smg
aim for upper chest, get kills, repeat
249 pulls you into smg range to be effective which is why people dont play support, smgs are just straight better
Is this 10% slower or 10% faster?
speed increase by 10%, so 0.58s(0.6) faster if i'm not completly braindead
I think it's intended as a buff but yea oki words things really weird lol
Non-native English speaker 🤷♂️
think its increased reload speed, or decrease reload time (samething XD)
something changed
everyone panic
For what it is, I think these are fair changes
The only thing the game really lacks now are medium machineguns (think M240B, PKM/PKP) and maybe one or two very high ROF support guns. In general, I think Russian weapons could use a lot more representation in the support class, so getting another LSW like an RPK-74 or RPK-16 with those 45-rounder long mags in addition to a PKP/PKM would be very nice.
i know the RPK-16 is coming
On jah?
mg3 and m60 are coming aswell
mg3 gonna be 🔥
can't way to be patriotic af on the battlefield 🫡
I hope the M60 is one of the newer variants
Just because a weapon model is in the game doesn't mean it's anywhere near done
they have to record some small pebbles fallint into grass for the firing sound
Ultimax doesn't has canted sights options... only top for the scopes that have it.
I think that the LMG's need a buff. Atleast the tripod. I think BF5 did it right. A soldier with an M1919A6 walking around was pretty useless due to recoil, but when he found his spot and got his weapon settled on a tripod he became a machine of death. The tripod should definetly eradicate almost all recoil. A stationary soldier with an LMG on a tripod should be very deadly. At this moment the recoil makes him no more harmfull than a soldier who's doing a run and gun with an ak15. I don't think that's fair towards the support class. I think that this change would distinguish the support class from other classes which it deserves.
The moment I saw the buff I knew it gonna be too good
It already have M4 recoil before the buff now it laser
So... like irl lmgs with their 600m+ effective range?
Nah still can't reach the level of irl because of how fast movement speed is and how low the damage it can do
But is it good enough for people to not play medic or only good enough for medics to cry about it
Good enough for snipers to use it
I'm thinking recoil decrease, velocity and swap speed buff
damn, this gun straight up laser beam. Challenging snipers no problem.
Actually feels good to be able to use a medium scope without having a siezure
if the sniper doesn't move and you get to keep tapping them yeah they die
I'm using the ultimax now and it's based
This is where I expect LMGs to be, I can lay down consistent automatic fire at range and I'm actually making people keep their heads down
Or punishing groups out of place
Or bothering snipers enough to make them piss off
Finally, an LMG that outclasses its AR parallels in exchange for the slower movement and aiming
And slower rof
That’s just part of ttk
But that's OK because it aids controllability and how long you can keep someone bothered
The M249 should be this, but less accurate and slightly stronger recoil
The M249s recoil is already stronger than its AR counterparts
I mean stronger than ultimax
Ah, fair
I don't care about ARs in this chat
Easiest thing to compare LMGs with
Im trying to say rebalance the m249 using the ultimax as a base, but increase recoil, damage and RoF and lower controlability
Yea, i can actually duel groups who think "im at 100m, he cant hit me" and even force recon players to be more cautious
Very much this, I can each out and fuck with people
You HAVE to aim for headshots, but you can get them with a little edfort
The downside is it's weak damage but it can be applied consistently
It still kinda sucks up close and will generally lose to an SMG and AR up close, which is good
I actually have actually been hitting 500m+ shots ocasionally even with automatic fire. Add suppression to this and i could live with this
I don't think you know what 500m is in this game
I don't shoot 500m with a DMR with a medium scope
Yea, maybe im overestimating because of my fov
Whats the distance from the cliffs on the north of waki to across the water on thr shore on the east of the map from c?
Prob like 300
Then thats probably what it was closer to
Yea that makes sense
Anyway, it feels like a quality weapon now, more importantly it feels effective
Still really good considering i was able to still hit him instead of how normally automatic fire at that range will scatter your shots in a circle like 20m wide
Bipod still trash but we can't have everything
damage dropoff should probably be more severe if they're going to keep this amount of accuracy
seems like a bit much to me but I was the like one guy not complaining about the old version too
The old version wasn't bad, but it was on the lower side of average
I personally preferred it to the m249
I been using the bipod, training for the eventual buff 😈
also, its really funny to tell people i was just deploying my bipod whenever they complain about dropshotting
Like if 0 is "ok", the old version was a -1 and the new version is a +3
The groza is a +10 unbalance piece of shit
I’ve never actually heard someone in game complain about dropshotting before
Its rare
if they're going to make bipods as silly as you guys seem to want them to they're going to have to add some kind of opportunity cost to them
The opportunity cost is the minutes i spend at windows fiddling around trying to get it to deploy at decent angles
That's an issue for basically every single weapon in the game. The damage drop off for SMG's bottoms out at like 175 meters which is ??? MP5 can beam people at 100 meters.
The Ultimax really needs to have its effective range capped to like 100 meters because it's SHREDDING the fuck out of people and I love it
I feels optimum between 50-80m, any closer and the slow RoF and awkward handling impede it, any further and the automatic fire and inaccuracy make it harder to hit
Definitely killable out to 100m
The weapons got a base accuracy of 68 which is pretty poor tbh
All I can think of when I use this gun is the Metal Slug "Laser Gun!" sound effect.
Why should the range be nerfed? It’s an LMG, they’re meant to have good range performance
Yeah, i think thats whats stopping it from being overly oppressive at long ranges 80 to 120m. Very balanced gun I would say.
I'd say ultimax is in a decent spot right now, just kinda wish it had lower mag capacity options since the gun can take stanag mags, would be nice if we could get more movement speed and reload speed with it at the cost of magazine capacity. Would give an actual reason to use it over the m249, and that's not even considering how far behind it'll fall once we get the other upcoming lmgs.
The reason to use it over the m249 is because it has like a third of the recoil
It becomes very good at mid ranges
recoil on m249 is more than manageable unless you're pushing out to the 100m
It is way higher than it is on the ultimax ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Without mid range scopes I suppose the difference wouldn’t be that obvious but it’s certainly very important
It may well be the best longer range full auto weapon right now
either way smaller capacity mags would be nice if for nothing else than the reload speed
Fair
at least 60 rounder to keep it feeling like a lmg
so that you're not basically forced to use the b25 for reload speed
also mid range scopes on the ultimax are still quite disappointing, not only is it not accurate enough to fully utilize them but the visual recoil also makes it very hard to see your targets through some of them
i was looking forward to using it with the slip but it basically hides the target you're shooting at whenever the reticle jumps
As far as I am aware accuracy is still an irrelevant stat
accuracy isn't irrelevant though
Has anyone demonstrated that it does something yet
yes. someone made a vid and posted it here somewhere a month ago or so but i'm sure you'll find a demo on yt
there's a reason people hate the acc values on dmrs
Hard disagree, I used the strongest midrange scope on the ultimax and it's extremely effective
I wouldn't play it with just a red dot as it's a weapon that really does need to be getting headshots to be effective
this gun has genuinely become a dream, it feels so smooth. been trying it out a bit on frontline and i can hold sightlines so effectively with how precise and smoothly it shoots. it has become an excellent defensive option
can't try it right now due to recent prestige
ultimax is better right now, it fills the role lmgs should fill. theoretical dps of m249 doesnt make up for the lack of flexibility it has. ultimax beaming lets it fill the medium-long range role of lmgs far better while still having the downsides of an lmg (slow ads speed, slow movement, slow reload, etc)
I ask chat to make some tier lists of the support guns pls and thank you
Not worth making something fancy over 4 guns but my current opinions in order of best to worst, meta-wise.
L86A1 - it just kills super quickly. It’s the de-facto CQC option.
Ultimax100 - fills its niche effectively
MG36 - generally decent I guess.
M249 - mag size is the only thing stopping it from being purely bad.
Yeah, the l86 is the awkard child of the support lineup
L86A1 is the ADHD-fuelled youngest child
M249 is the unloved middle child
Ultimax is the reliable big brother
MG36 is the eldest stoner college dropout forcing Ultimax to be the reliable one
i agree with this
Occasionally mg36 does crack and becomes weirdly helpful for approximately 15 minutes each day
Yea, post patch m249 and ultimax completely switched positions
M249 is theoretically better across wider ranges than ultimax but those ranges it is better at are where lmgs lose out to other weapons. Ultimax meanwhile plants its feet solidly down as a medium-long range accuracy-by-volume defensive and suppresive fire weapon
It would be great to rebalance guns to bring them up to ultimax standard but there just aren't enough guns to fill old niches
M249 can't be volume of fire bc then we can't have a jack of all trades. L86 can't be a ranged rifle bc then we lose a DPS monster
Etc
Minor buffs all around on a gun can keep it feeling the same but performing a bit better. For the M249 I think that would be the best way to proceed
ultimax is so good i have started putting a rangefinder on it
Its pretty good but lacks in ttk
If it didn’t it would be overpowered
True
Its supposed to
Ik thats why I said its balanced rn
Кажется нужно чуть-чуть поднять характеристики этому оружию
danke
This has single handedly become my most consistent squad killer for 100m plus. I love it the only MG I can viably put a medium scope on and chew through teams accurately. plz buff bipods.
