My thoughts on the M249 with medium range scope and bipod
Hi all, I used the m249 primarily during last play test with a bipod, medium range scope, and the barrel attachment that helped the most with accuracy and here are a few things I think of it.
Bipod recoil should be a bit less. For close and medium ranges it felt fine but for long range engagements I found myself awkwardly trying to decide whether I should just spray and pray or single tap. Single tap has a bit too much recoil at long range for me so I found just spray and pray was a bit better.
The damage felt okay but maybe a bit more would be good? I’m not sure the exact number of hits it would take to kill someone but I fell like with the slow movement speed and very slow ads speed the time to kill (ttk) should be a bit lower. With groups of people it struggles a little bit to kill multiple people even prone with the bipod. At long ranges I feel like I’ve shot someone like 4 times and they’re still alive which is a bit rough.
The gun felt a bit too inaccurate at long ranges even with the highest accuracy barrel.
Anyone else have similar or different experiences with it? Maybe I’m just too hopeful for it to be useful at long range when it’s not supposed to be used in those situations.
