#That's not how claymore works
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
these mines always have fucked up hitboxes and they damage you even if you are not in the blast area, it makes them way more effective than they should be
I'm pretty sure claymores in game don't even care where you are. The blast is not focused, it gives you damage within ~5m radius and thats it
is there a problem with that?
yes, the problem is that it is not how claymore works neither in real life, nor in videogames
this game is not meant to be realistic
it still should make sense, though
and there begins the argument between "fun" and "realism"
claymores aren't going to be unfun if they stop killing people who are trying to disarm it
but claymores still have a 360 explode radius
same with tank HE round, but they BOTH spread like hot butter
actually quite agree with OP here
so make them damage you if you are too close
in the image you provided, that was too close
Its common sense, I cant remember a single game where claymore kills you when you're standing behind it
but its an explosive, it will have a 360 explosion radius no matter what
now you can , its battlebit
you run into claymore laser -> you die because you are not careful enough
you see the claymore before running into it -> you should be able to disarm it without dying
its not even the first time I die like this, when claymore is placed on staircase you often dont have any place to move from its damage zone
you can , if you arent right on it , the range for it not to kill you isnt big , you can still kill it at a reasonable distance
If the claymores had any sense of realism, they wouldnt even have trip wires cause that is against the geneva convention or something. you want realism you might as well just use c4 cause that what you would have.
I dont agree the game needs to be realistic, but there is something to be said about expectations and "readability". Most players would expect that claymores work like other games, otherwise they'd just be regular mines, which we have, so why not make the claymores different.
Like imagine if you pick up something that is modeled after a bolt action rifle but then in game it works like an assault rifle, that's just weird.
I agree
Claymores would be fucking useless if they only damaged in one direction.
You'd have to make them trigger instantly if you forced that.
Otherwise everyone would just run over them, on purpose or by accident.
Just make them always damage whoever triggered it regardless of what happened, its not like you can really run into the wire through a wall. And then have a second instance of damage that is the actual 180º explosion that may or may not hit people nearby
i am sure oki didn't sign the geneva convention
Exactly, my point is that if they wanted realism they should look elsewhere.
white phosphorus mortar, oki please 🥺 🙏
more like the geneva suggestion
time to turn the smoke granades into mustard gas
What about the cluster grenades
Thats not how Claymore works, yes sure.
But does not change, that you will still run inside of them, dying by one hit and crying about it.
Get Eyes, don't run into them, you still did, well it is what it is, move on.
Why are we talking about this.
I never run into them and that is not what I'm talking about. The problem is the opposite, actually. You can die to a claymore even if you see it and try to disarm it. Did you even read the original post?
Trying to disarm and successfully disarming are 2 different things.
Play Tarkov or Arma if you want it more "Realistic"
to many hackers in tarkov
Me and my impact grenades say otherwise.
I just place one of my mines and blow that up.
Explosions chain through walls, even if they wouldn't touch a player.
Same reason you gotta be careful with placement on stair cases.
Putting one explosive on every floor just means you waste everything with the first explosion.
Become one of them.
thats just a COD thing
since in COD you can go behind the claymore and melee/shoot it with no damage
real life it'll hurt
atleast 15m in a prone position
50m will still cause a concussion depending on the factors
and thats not even talking about ruptured eardrums
