Its for balance reasons, and its good like that

Wouldn't something like using flares be the counter?

FLIR and Smokes are hardly ever used in the first place, I really don't think it would hurt the balance.

It's not like you can like switch to the thing on the fly, lol.

Flir is used at night

Smoke is used at daytime

I'm pretty sure there isn't anything stopping people from using flir during the day like people using smoke during night. HyperXD

You can also spam Flares during the day too

#

You could also throw flashbangs and use grenades, I don't think the dynamic would change that drastically because someone can see you or not when it comes to flir seeing threw smokes, it already kinda sucks to use and the window you can be aimed down scope in ir mode isn't very long why not have this relatively small quality.. ?

#

On top of all that, I don't think people are using flir during the night because it's a pain in the ass to take off night vision to look down your scope unless you're one of those who are gamma cheesing, and they say they don't need night vision or flir. . and just use their regular long range scopes. 🤷‍♂️

It will make you appear more

#

In night you get blinded

#

In day you don't

Still works on flir during the day too.. weird.

Eh some clarifications then:
Smoke can be used to hide yourself, or cut line of sight both at night and day, you can't see through it using Flir.
Flares are mostly useful at night when opponents use nightvision because they blind them, Laser and Flar blinds Flir both at night and day
