Before I start I want to say that I am aware that some of this may seem like a bold and controversial statement, but please let me elaborate. And it is not an attack on devs in any kind, please don't misinterpret it like that, I think they are doing amazing work. I find those issues really in need of a touch up or improvement as soon after EA release as possible, because of their negative impact on the game, and the fact that the don't fit the overall quality of it.
Currently vehicles have quite an amount of really “weird” problems, made by dubious choices or some kind of oversight:
-Vehicle physics is weird. They seem to hover rather than move with contact to the ground. They also have a tendency to behave weirdly while colliding with other vehicles. By that I mean situations where front wheels can climb on other vehicles, and even whole vehicles can just drive over the other. This reminds me of RC cars.
During collisions with terrain, even at low speeds, they also tend to lift their rear or front wheels
-They sound really weird. Especially tracks of a tank. More like lego tracks than an actual track. But given the lack of sound designers/engineers among devs it’s fully understandable and acceptable.
-APC’s in particular strike me as unfinished project. They lack basic things like, color display, night vision, smoke of any kind, or thermal sight, making them “blind” in most cases, and literally at night. Shadows cast by building on a night map make some places pitch black on the display making it near impossible to see what is there.
And for some less striking/weird things:
-I don’t why it was made this way, but I am sure that thermal cameras behave very similarly during night and day, and they are not pitch black screens with brightly shown silhouettes of enemies, when in absence of light..
I can’t understand why it was made this way, but I suspect it has to do something with coding.
