#Rebalancing the no. of kills you need to the upgrade your weapon.

There are classes that you can upgrade the weapon faster than others and maybe that's how it supposed to be. A sniper is, basically, a scout and has less kills/points than any other roles(that's how it's supposed to be and that's how it works on other similar games in the competitive area).

Also, more people will be able to test more aspects of the game and that increases the number of feedback given.

Rebalancing the no. of kills you need to the upgrade your weapon.

it’s in the list of todos so it will probably be done

spare yew
#

We need that as fast as it can be done.

lost quail
#

it’s not a priority so it will probably be after release

#

They aren't strictly "upgrades" in the first place.

#

Almost all attachments simply change the behavior to some degree. It's more of a preference adjustment.

#

But drawbacks are present. Minus some quick mags for some guns...

Oh my goodness please. Some of us are bad at the game and would be lucky to get 3 kills a match. Needing hundreds to get a scope or grip seems awful… especially because I haven’t gotten any.

#

you only need like 200 kills to get most of the gud stuff 👍

regal hare
#

Ah yes only 200. I’ve played four matches and have… uuuh… yep eight kills, so I sure do be getting there. I might even get “the good stuff” by release reset!

Seriously I enjoy it but im bad at the game and would love a more universal way to get Cool Stuff for playing, I do a lot of healing and engineering, but that doesn’t net me a better sidearm.

Almost like being bad makes you progress slower, what a foreign concept

Switching it to XP based system probably would help

just for a simple assist

winged crypt

#

yeah but id rather get a kill personally over a small amount of XP like an assist

winged crypt
fierce needle
#

oh for me itd feel more fulfilling to get the kill for the attachment vs an assist/XP

fierce needle
#

i do easily!

winged crypt
#

Me personally, kill based progression is meh in an objective & teamwork oriented game

#

Kills would be the highest source of weapon XP of course

#

A cool way to make kill unlocks still satisfying could be reticle colors? Not to mention that camos are still kill restricted

fierce needle
#

what i would like to see is more of an assignment type system from BF

#

lets say theres the normal attachments based off kills
then some easy starter ones if you do smaller challenges
ie get 5 long shots
die with a gun 20 times

small stuff like that

what about adding a way to set one attachment cheaper ( % modifier to the existing kill requirement.) ie scope required 200 kills but once chosen it only required 25% of the kills, for the specific gun. and this can only be done once per gun, per prestige., resetting the choice on prestige, but keeping the attachment if you got it before prestigeing

And you'll have nothing but 1 man squads.

#

Since everyone wants the free leader score. HyperXD

#

Kills are fine.
Just consider how quickly a weapon can effectively kill back to back.

#

A sniper rifle certainly will be a lot lower in that regard.

No idea

#

I sure hope it gets nerfed, though. Stupid high gain for existing.

hexed scaffold
#

Perhaps a mix of that with task based for initial attachments, so that more casual players had some attachment options.

languid ibex
#

It's all preference in the end.
There's no real right or wrong here.
Some people say it's too grindy, others will say the opposite.

#

Statistics will tell what a good middle is.

hexed scaffold
#

I think it's in a good place, but cuts variety with guns, since probably nobody wants to grind attachments for another gun just to see how it would perform when fully kited when they already have perfectly fine gun VAL

languid ibex
#

It barely matters.

#

Red dot over iron sight is the only significant change.

#

Everything else is preference.

Actually, we have a firing range to test our guns thokittenThinking

Might seem OP vs a dummy, but still sucks for you in a fight.

#

Had that happen often enough.

Also true i guess

I might make one of those servers, not a fan of progression where a lot of unlocks are upgrades

Official servers > Community servers

Since the official ones seem to be near rock solid (I guess?), he can work on the community server part more.

#

But yeah, we need that to work before we this can run.

The only problem here is that i have a home server but it only has 8GB of RAM

I’m personally waiting for EA or more work on the API until I host my own server
Will probably use Linux myself when I host seething I don’t have much experience with windows server
And I don’t wanna learn windows server xD

Windows servers is a pain

# fierce needle what i would like to see is more of an assignment type system from BF

I’m not a fan of challenge based unlocks because it forces me to play a certain way that may or may not be beneficial.

Like the camo unlocks in CoD. It has turned multiplayer into an unlock simulator where people don’t actually “play” multiplayer, they just complete challenges. For example the entire team sitting in the back of the map trying to get long shots

#

Of course this would have a less noticeable effect due to the scale in BattleBit

#

Which leads me back to why I like XP for weapons. Do what you want, still unlock stuff. To me that player freedom. But I do kind of like the thought of trying to get hipfire kills, to unlock an attachment that improves hipfire performance

languid ibex
#

Please no.
I hate hipfire in BBR. kittenCry

I would prefer to unlock attachments for the class of weapon. Its annoying to unlock so much on my m249 just to be back to basics on L86A1, and same can be said of snipers. Rather just hug my sv98 and not bother with the others. Could also be because limited playtime gives me anxiety to try new weapons when I already have a few I enjoy, and not wanting to 'waste' time re-leveling attachments for a particular weapon. (ie. midrange sight on my L86A1).

That sounds interesting but they'd probably not add it
