Ammo refills are extremely difficult to find. I just hit 20 hours of gameplay, have approx 1700 kills with a 2.7 kdr, and today I just found my first ammo refill in all that time, in all those kills. Since I tend to go on killstreaks often, I run out of ammo regularly and am always on the lookout for more. I play medic, as other classes I tend to have a lot of trouble finding health packs or getting healed, so this may also apply to health packs as well as ammo packs.

I'm not sure if supports are just rare in general as a class, or there's a different reason ammo crates are so difficult to find, but please consider the following:

ammo crates and health packs are visible on map. Ammo/health packs have larger and more distinct models, so they are easier to spot. A button you can press to highlight nearby/nearest ammo/health packs on your UI. More incentive to drop health packs and ammo packs. Permanent resupply/heal drops near captured points or objectives.

Map should definetly show ammo packs, atleast within close-ish proximity. Bigger issue though is that supports simply arent dropping them. Ive got ~70h and dont think ive seen any ammo boxes around for more than 4-5 times. Its such a rare occurence

This could get somewhat fixed when the classes are balanced. Not much incentive to play support right now.
May supports get more than two guns and some more utility soon

Ye i agree. The system works great with premade squads, i play medic and my friend play support and we are a 2 man army. Feels really good so i hope they can make it work for non-premates as well

The battle lines change so frequently that it is difficult to find support packs. Additionally, they disappear (supposedly) on support death

I think the biggest problem is that few people play with support, mainly because as mentioned, it only has 2 guns, but I still don't think its THAT hard to find supports, tho if you really need ammo you could try to ask for it in the voice chat, maybe there is a support nearby. Also, you can call an airdrop depending on the situation or just play assault as it has small ammo boxes.

Friendly neighborhood support here. First off, yes we need more gun diversity. Second, ask and you shall receive. I love me some free points. I'm not just going to lay them around everywhere, when I do they are mostly ignored and I don't have any available when my squad and I do need them.

I recently found out as Support, you can drop your mag instead of doing the longer reload and you will get a new mag automatically because ammobox! You don't even need to deploy it haha

That doesn't help this post but I thought it was interesting.

We need a icon on players that need Ammo, like how the medic can see players that need heals

I tend to resupply group of teammate than random individual. so stick to group of people, maybe you have higher chance getting ammo box

Support only gets 3 ammo boxes and you cant re supply the boxes themselves, so if you're living long enough you start to be a little more careful on when you're dropping them. If we had 2 or 3 permanently and they just moved with us when we placed them you would see them a lot more often. I also agree with asking for a support to drop a box for you, just don't expect them to drop it at your feet in a spot with no cover. L86 has much smaller mags(50rd drums dont unlock till 600/800kills) so if you see a support with one of those chances are they will be dropping ammo boxes all the time.

I got another idea to solve this issue...
Points.
Placing medkits and ammoboxes would give the owner points for every use from other players (for healing: 1point for each %HP restored, for ammo/items: idk 5-10points per refilled mag?)
That would probably increase amount of ammobags and medkits in strategical positions

Could also maybe have the ability to give a player additional mag whenever you use an ammo box. It would be one time thing per life. I know it sounds iffy but it would at least have motivation for supports to drop their boxes for themselves and others (tho its not that "realistic" although what can I say the game is basically cod but squad-alike)

I never hear anyone ask for ammo, but I understand why, since supports are rare. Bit of a boring class
