#I think not having (at least a slow) regeneration makes the game depend on medics a bit too much

I think considering a slower regen for when you're not healed would be interesting (or another solution we could come up with). Sometimes you might go on a nice flank and find yourself out of health, often forcing you to play medic if you want to push for those streaks. I play a ton of Overwatch in which there are dedicated healing characters, which is all right because it's an arena shooter with a way smaller map, but I think no regen in such big maps can be problematic.

What are your thoughts? Is there something I might be missing? Any other potential solutions? Let me know!

i dont think there should be regen but using a bandage to get a bit of health should be fine

#

so first one stops bleeding second one gives a bit of health but to be fully healed you still need a medic

it even has the tradeoff of not having enough bandages if you start bleeding

#

do you heal now or wait till you're bleeding? Nice idea

Post scriptum has a similiar concept. They have a ~70% max hp cap for healing as non medic which makes medics rather useless in many situations. I would say that with a 50%max hp cap / 25hp per bandage (you coud get 75% but need to use them all) this could work really well.

i second that idea. given the damage you took the amount of bandage-healable HP decreaes. a headshot leads to you being able to recover less HP with bandages than a body shot. armor could count, too.

Lots of good ideas around 👀

great ideas, im a medic main as an agressive pvper basically by force. and this may frustrate other players when im not helping them all the time

BFV has passive regeneration, but it's limited, you can regen around 30 hp back or so. So if you have 40 HP left, you can go up to 70, for example. You may make it more complex, maybe limit HP regen to certain value (no regen past 75 HP for example), but make it work for lower HP values, or something like that.

I do think passive regen or bandages starting health regen is good for the game, as you cant do anything after winning a firefight except wait for a medic

All we need is a tutorial or better prompts for the med-kit.
I've seen...too many medics trying to heal me with a bandage.

#

I literally told them that they have to use the medkit, not the bandage, as I healed them and myself with mine. 🗿

#

Some of them did not understand.

Its game about squads and some shit. So why the hell u must regen? Like u wolverine or something lol, u need ur mates to fix ur ass. Just keep playng overshit kekw

frigid temple

Ye but you gotta think about solo players too, alot of gamers just dont play with others. So its important for them to have atleast a bit of healing so they dont get forced within the medic class

That you can talk to people doesnt mean thier usefull

digital sinew
#

Again, u can play other games if u cant talk to people. Im solo and when im asking medic to heal - i get it
Also its not even ea, many of ppl are just newbies who just start to play, so its obviously if somebody will not use some mechanics, learning curve

  1. Its a video game that isn’t 100% dedicated to realism and permanently losing a massive chunk of max hp in a firefight just to die in the next isn’t fun
  2. Medic is the only way to heal, making all other classes less appealing
  3. Think about why other games like battlefield and squad allow healing

Read what people are actually saying before jerkposting on a discussion that was civil before you rolled out of bed into it. Most people were suggesting partial regen so you still need medics, but aren't barely functional after every fight without a medic nearby.
In case you were going to appeal to realism or something, remember that medics irl rarely make you ready to fight again or "heal" you in any direct sense. They usually just keep you from dying or losing a limb but you still aren't going to fight anytime soon. But like other things, medics aren't "realistic" because it wouldn't really benefit gameplay.

I feel the same as most of you guys, being sort of ,,forced" to play medic is getting a bit annoying, i'd like to explore some other classes but the way i enjoy playing the game is only really playable with medic

#

Medic will still propably the best class to play in that wild and agressive way but i'd atleast like to have the option to play something like engineer or assault to mix things up

give assault the ability to repair armor, thus giving it "health" back

shell zealot

Yeah, I think it's just assault/support being weak rather than medic being strong.

It's a really good idea

give Support the ability to place down armor kits in one of his gadget slots and/or get armor from resupply boxes

armor's a bit different, the regen up to +30-40 HP and using bandages is a nice idea
