What is the purpose of LMG or SMG in this game. Currently SMG can laser at 50-100m in just a couple of bullets meanwhile the LMG cant hit anything except a barn past 75m and you need 4-5 hits to kill anything. LMG are meant to be a suppression WITH DEADLY FORCE not hail of bullets that feel like nerf darts. SMG can outsprint everyone and have the highest fire rates, so run and gun. Fix LMG so we can hold points with accuracy not just a tracer barrage for the sniper to insta kill.

I've been mostly playing support recently and I've gotta agree. I'd like to see the LMG heavily nerfed at close range and substantially buffed at mid to long range. I would love if the developers took some queues from Hell Let Loose which I think nails the feel of an LMG. In HLL hipfiring an LMG feels like a clumsy, desperate act and puts you at a massive disadvantage in close quarters combat. The LMG's also get very stable bipods that make you laser accurate so long as your properly set up.
honestly the Kriss Vector rn i feel is like an instakill weapon if you run into a close quarters scenario and in a game where TTK is nearly instant, its fucking horseshit.
im not saying nerf it out right but it does kill game flow runnin up to a guy with a Kriss Vector
Its most of the SMG list but all day has been death to vectors and the PDW list. they are just over powered from point blank up to 100m.
Chiming in with. (Body armor was made to stop pistol caliber arounds sense World war 2) And also. "SMG have seen less combat deployed in large scale warfare sense 1960s." As two Loosely known bits of History from your average American Gamer. Just stating. ALL SMG's can stay lazer guns as that fits them. But they better take 30 rounds to brake someones helmet or armor because thats what Body armor is for. Stopping small rounds and knives and maybe some Mid sized rounds.
Both LMG's we have right now use a high velocity (Small) round which has been struggling against body armor sense 1970. Both gun types need work :\

If support wasn't a weak boy, We could trade armor for Arm strength and have better standing or crouching stability when using normal armor. Heavy gear and guns are a Pain to stabilize. I know that from using 300 pounds in gun and gear 😐

Medics don't take action and heal cuz of teamwork, they do it cuz of exp
Supports drop ammo crates for exp, but unlike medics, supports don't get exp for doing the action
Supports get 1 EXP for bullet stopped by cover they build. 🤨
No, but the assault gets exp for blocking bullets with the shield
Add, Snipers get 1 EXP for every time someone shoots at a decoy they placed.
actually that a battlefield 1 thing, might make Snipers have a little more utility play.
I found LMG (mainly m249) with the right attachments to be amazing tbf. however Engi with SMG and maxxed move speed is kinda crazy.

unfortunately bipods dont actually function in this game and who knows if they ever will. Been confirmed from the dev that he doesnt know a way of balancing the bipod without it being OP or hot trash. If bipods actually worked in this game then the m249 would be a lot better but they just dont. Some have had success with specific attachments and positioning but they are few and far between
I cant exactly tell if you are trying to reference real life armor and guns to specify how guns in the game should work as well as armor but so far the game does not intend to play to realism in any way. even if something in real life is X way this game will not be nerfing or buffing things based on how they are in real life.
