#Nerf heavy armor

It's already weak af wym
You can easily take out a heavy armor unit down with only a few shots.
It's op compared to other armor variants. There's no heason not to take the heaviest armor available
then you commit die after wasting all of 3 mags?
Tell me how it's op and why wouldn't you remove for other types of armor
i have 4
at least
and i get a supply drop or go pistol
more hp, more ammo, more grenades with the only downsides being -10% movement speed and -10% ads speed
You can have more ammo with lighter armor.
And tell me: what does "more hp" really mean?
And another thing to note: -10% movespeed and ads speed is a lot.
Exo armor turns you into a snail that can tank 1 extra bullet PER LIFE
and you get more ammo?
Wow, it's almost as if the support could restock ammo
Oh wait
Skill issue
Tbh there's been a few times when support armor has actually fucked me over
But their armor is comically useless
you not being able to spend all 3 mags before you die is the skill issue
This.
I found out that being able to run is much more useful than tanking an extra random shot, and that's when it's not from a sniper which breaks it instantly and turns it into a heavy pile of uselesness
Well, it's very easy to burn so many rounds. Need to keep a supply box standing by.
Yeah would be nice if you could pick back the box
And refill them with points in a supply crate
would be nice if they didnt literally despawn as im resupplying
Would be nice if you could get your armour back on the battlefield after loosing it
My thought is that run faster = you can dodge some bullet or take cover
Heavy armor = tank few hit and then useless
Armor is kinda ass due to the fact that you can't replace it and it slows you down bad.
But I can't get over the fact that there are times when I die solely because that guy was decked out with exo armor.
In a sense, it allows people to get kills solely because they could tank a few more hits than you. A kill they otherwise would not have gotten.
Then again, I use As Val, so not like I should complain.
Yes but he can do that only one time per "spawn"
Mobility in the other hand can perform even after you are bandage etc
Seriously I shot a guy like 3 times and then the last one was in the head. I feel like I’m shoot other people 3-5x and they just run away or more of their armor buddies one around corner taking advantage of this. This is WAY too much! I’ve never seen a game like this where they allow so much armor and newer players are screwed to even have the option to compete…I end up spamming rockets at them just to kill them…even a sniper bullet like less than 100 yards and straight to the face nothing. What is this a bunch of juggernauts? Ridiculous
Well...if you just started playing games, then maybe I can see this, but the TTK in this game is actually on the faster side for an arcade shooter when considering all shooters over the past 20+ years.
Well yeah, too fast! What it feels like we are playing is counter strike with juggernauts from bf1 who take advantage of armor. So the TTK them is so low the only way you have a chance is grenades or rpg literally… the only ones I have been able to kill are the ones that aren’t carrying a full suit of armor. It’s like playing against bulldozers from payday 2. It’s SO bad, I’ve never seen a game like it, like not even in insurgency—it gives you no chance. I had one come up the stairs and me and my teammate both were shooting at him and he killed both of us. I got 2 shots in him and then one in the head at close range but he had a shield helmet on so it turned blue and I was was dead instantly
It’s not fun and it doesn’t help a lot of these guys team up and it’s basically a bunch of armor heavies that mow everyone down
It’s nuts!
just shoot the legs, that's what I do when I'm using smgs
Aim for the crotch
Armor being OP or trash doesn't matter to me, it's just super frustrating not knowing if you're going to kill the guy around the corner in 2 shots or 15. It makes ammo management a chore
If it's taking you more than 5 to 7 bullets, which at most ranges may not even be possible, you need to mix in more face/head shots. The gunplay is close to Battlefield 3 in some ways. It's not hard, you need to hit your shots consistently or know when to take a fight. I assume you don't know how to peek and break from a fight, you don't just stand your ground and expect to win everytime. You won't always have that option either, but this just isn't a game where winning every fight is even possible without the skill differential to make up for it.
There also appears to be network lag issues alongside ban waves still happening at least every day.
Alright well maybe I need to relook at my tactics. Maybe I need to go back and play bf3. I do know how to peek however and I have changed approach and retreated on many points of contact. Although most of these are these “heavies” I use steam deck for play and that makes another hole to jump through. It’s hard to find the right configuration to know if I am a worthy opponent in hardware config and simply need to up my skill, weapons or all 3. However your feedback and the way you have approached it has been helpful, Thankyou
Nah you don't need to play BF3, you can learn anything you need from the game, but playing on Steam Deck could be a pretty major issue, unless you are at least using a mouse.
The best BF3 player I ever saw was on a crappy TV playing at like 20 or 30 fps because their game sense and aim interpolation was just that good.
Up close MP7 and Vector melt, M4 seems great all around, and some of the slower AR's are great from afar but for most maps and fights M4 seems ideal. If you run support/heavy yourself I am told M249 is good.
Basically adjusting peek locations, changing path/direction, pre-firing, these are all essential. Don't forget sound too, the game isn't great with sound but you can generally sound track people to get approximate location or narrow it down pretty precisely.
Also I saw your other post, I learned most of what I needed from the "run and gun" fps's because slower ones are actually the same game, just with less engagements.
Even before CoD the Arena style shooter could be thought of as a "raw form" fps where you build all of the fundamental skills that translate over to every other fps.
I've found a lot of people who don't like "run and gun" don't understand that similarity and a faster fps allows you to "train" faster as well.
People that have tens of thousands of hours in fps's across all types just have a potentially massive advantage if they explored what it is possible and followed the best players around to learn from them.
Keep in mind also there are quite a few script kiddies running around. You can use the above tactics to potentially find them, but it does take experience. It's also a mix of network/server issues which are probably mostly factors of the games/servers themselves, but bad players have been pulling crap for years and tends to happen as player populations increase.
And don't forget there a plenty of strong players out there. Many of whom have been foaming at the mouth for a fun fps.
anyone with exo armor is stuck with a slow weapon and you should easily be able to kill them unless they are already aimed on you befor the fight starts. TTK is still quite fast even through exo armor and if you shot first you will win unless you miss your shots.
agreee
Not being able to repair armor without dying makes it fairly useless in general, and twice as useless on support if this is supposed to be its class feature. This is especially problematic in larger game modes where you can be expected to get healed/ressed more and thus spend even more of your time with depleted armor. Armor needs fixes, not nerfs. Perhaps support should be able to fix at least his own armor via using the large ammo box.
Yeah, could engineer repair armor with repair tool or is that super unlikely?
I think they can choose it for either slot.
