I just bought a server to play modded Minecraft with my wife but neither of us are able to connect to it. We keep getting a getsockopt error which I’ve looked into and did everything from turning off my firewall to changing my port and nothing works. What’s stranger is that I cannot connect connect to every server other then the one I bought. The website says it’s up but none of my friends can join it. How do I fix the getsockopt error?

That is almost always the server isn't started or there's an issue with the address.
Are you seeing the connection attempts in the Console?
I am also presuming there's a typo and you can connect to other servers.
