I'm wondering if there are ways to make Chunky's preloading faster. I was hosting a Cobblemon Academy server and loaded about 30,000 blocks which I believe took around 17 hours. I have the same server and switched the modpack to Society Sunlit Valley after my friends and I finished with the Cobblemon Academy modpack. I set Chunky to preload 20,000 blocks but the ETA ranges from 500-700 hours. I'm not sure why there this this much of an increase. I'm paying for 15gb of RAM and the CPU load ranges from 5-12% while I'm chunk loading for Society Sunlit Valley. Any help or tips would be welcome. I'm not sure if this issue warrants an official support ticket to BisectHosting or not.

The Sunlit Valley pack probably just has more complex world generation than Cobblemon Academy.
Chunk generation is mostly I/O constrained, and Bisect uses nothing but PCIe3 or higher NVMe drives, so it's hard to get much faster.

You're loading 20,000 blocks in each direction, so from -20.000 to 20.000. that's a huge amount of blocks. That will take time. Probably not a month of time, but definitely more than 17 hours. Adding the more complex world gen like Ceridwen mentioned... You can always have staff check to see if there's anything limiting the speed but chunky just also Is not incredibly fast.

Easiest thing to try is make sure Lithium is in the modpack. If it isn't, check with the pack authors to see if it (or a port) is compatible.

I think its more likely the ETA of 500-700 hours is due to a specific section being generated; that ETA fluctuates quite heavily
If its still showing that absurdly high ETA come tomorrow moring (being its 8pm for me, so.. 12-14 hours) ~ I'd pop our team a chat to see if its on a Xeon on the off chance
But yeah the section taking a ton of computing to get genn'ed is normal for more mods, Cobblemon is basically vanilla worldgen (outside of specific biomes from other mods, but theyre light) ~ Once you add 50 mods all trying to affect the same chunk, thats where that generation wait goes up 😅
