What should I do/buy/find for a server to host an smp with a max or 20+ ppl on at once

Hey so, over the summer I was planning to host a relatively big vanilla smp with maybe some plugins but the last one I made was still pretty laggy with only 10 ppl on and spark and chunky and bunch of optimized settings. I only did have 4gb but idk why I should get from bisect so that I can run it really smoothly without much lag. There’s around 15-20ish ppl in total and I have a good feeling if I go with what I did last time it’s going to be bad. I’m just looking for any suggestions for where to go and what to buy to get the best experience. Also if you think there’s another site that might be better for what I’m planning then plz lmk.

With 20+ do you mean 20+ concurrently on at once? Also how much exactly is 20+?

And what kind of plugins?

And to add as well, chunky and spark are both plugins that can help with lag, but they don’t just work on their own. You need to set them up and know what they are there for

yea dont worry i was using them effectively

but i asked sm1 at bisect on the site

and they recommended just getting a server w 12-14gb

and it should be good

use chunky and some other optemizations and it should run fine

i was just gonna scroll on bukkit and modrinth for some that I liked and add them

I did want to add one that was similar to like yk how big smps liek lifesteal bliss and strength have a "extra" main plugin that adds more content. I wanted to try to add something similar to that but its been kinda hard to find what im looking for

one guy gave the idea of the potion effect one where u get pos effects for kills but negative for dying
