8gb RAM lagging for 1 person

I have a server with 8gb and it lags even when only one player is online. I have around 15 performance mods and not sure how to fix this. In total i have 140 mods, many of them are library mods, the only mods that affect terrain are ice and fire dragons, oh the biomes you'll go, yungs caves and when dungeons arise.

Could this be caused by performance mods that dont go well together? what should i try
im not experiencing lag in single player worlds (i have 8gb allocated on my pc just like the server)
ive previously played on 1.20.1 with no lag (90 mods) so my connection isn't a problem

Hey I got the same problem, the only difference is that I dont have any lags but my friends does. It lags even with no mods installed, just minecraft with the latest forge version.

Please make your own support thread, as there's a million and one different reasons servers are lagging and your issue is likely unrelated :)

How to provide a Spark sampler.

1. Stop your server.
2. Download Spark: https://spark.lucko.me/download
3. Upload the mod to your server:
   Filemanager > mods (for modded servers)
   or Filemanager > plugins (for plugin based servers)
   (Just drag & drop the file)
4. Start the server.
5. Use the command /spark profiler --only-ticks-over 70
6. Wait 10-15 minutes.
7. Use the command /spark profiler stop
8. Copy the link it generates and paste it here.

spark says the max memory is 2.5gb and not 8

No, it doesn't :) spark measures the max memory used while the report was running, not what the server has available
