Just to clarify - you mean a server with bisecthosting?

#

Realms are specifically servers hosted through Mojang, which is why I'm asking :)

Okay perfect! If you have some logs that would be helpful :)

Please send some logs over so we can help resolve your issue. To access logs on your Minecraft server, please navigate to your server panel's File Manager and take the following path:

1. Open the Server's File Manager
2. Navigate inside the 'logs' folder
3. Click on "latest.log" to download it and send the file over Discord to this channel.
(Do not send over any logs ending in .gz or we will not be able to assist you)

If your server is in a crash state (the server stops itself), please also attach a crash report, which can be found at the following path:

1. Open your server's File Manager
2. Navigate inside the 'crash-reports' Folder
3. Select the latest crash report by date/time and send it over Discord to this channel.

These files are required for debugging so, please send them over before requesting further assistance. No assistance can be provided without the files. If you have any questions about how to find these files, please take a look here: https://www.bisecthosting.com/clients/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/136/How-to-find-and-view-Minecraft-server-logs-and-crash-reports.html

[Minecraft] Cannot connect to modded server

On the bisechosting server homepage it says the memory is 1.1 GB/ 1 GB , is it because the mod pack is too big for this low gb server we bought?

brazen tide
#

oh yeah, 1GB will definitely not be enough to run this

rotund pelican
#

is there a way i can upgrade my server to higher storage without getting another extra server?

brazen tide
#

Minecraft 1.20.1 without any mods already needs 3-4. This is a quite a large modpack, i think the minimum recommended is 8gb

Okay

follow those steps right there :D

rotund pelican
#

i just upgraded to 10 gb

#

it says "sever i s still starting"

#

"please wait before reconnecting"

#

"failed to connect to server, time out"

#

are we meant to open it through minecraft java or with the modpack from curseforge?

brazen tide
#

Well the first startup for a large modpack takes more than 10 seconds - it can take 15 minutes somtimes

#

I have a feeling your server isnt fully started yet - as those messages confirm.

rotund pelican
#

ah okay

brazen tide
#

It should say 'starting' in the console?

rotund pelican

it ended up working

#

thank you for the help

#

i have a question though

#

a friend of mine, when he launches the mod through curseforge, it just stops loading. any idea what the problem could be? he reinstalled everything and doesnt seem to work

Can he send the client logs:

Open the launcher (e.g., CurseForge, FTB, GDLauncher, Technic, etc.).

Locate the modpack you're using.

Open the folder for the modpack and look for a folder named logs.

Find the "latest.log" file or similar, which will contain detailed error and performance data.

#

as the modpack itself might be missing stuff on the client etc.

#

causing it to straight up crash

Is this it?

rotund pelican

Hello

uneven ember
#

In the log file there's nothing of interest

#

it's just the game starting with no errors or anything really to go off

#

it just started fancymenu and that's it

#

how much memory did he allocate to his game?

rotund pelican
#

he has alot of memory if thats what you're asking

#

doesnt really have an issue with disk space

#

we tried with other mods and its the same issue, it loads and then when curseforge tries to go full screen it just freezes

#

He has allocated the max amount (30gb)

#

to curseforge
