I had edited the config files for the cataclysm mod to that the health and damage multiplier would be higher, however when i checked it again it didnt save. I remember hitting save contents like 5 times too so is there a reason it didnt save?

A lot of Minecraft mods write back whatever they have in memory on shutdown. Are you editing the file while the server is stopped?

Cataclysm is a bit jank, some config changes the mod doesn't like from my own experience

It is stupid, there are bits we were able to get working like strength health of bosses and what not, but it doesn't like when you change some of the weapons stats
That being said, start with what Ceridwen said, make sure the sever is stopped first before editing stuff

alr i just switched the config to how i want it while the servers down, imma turn it back on and see if it saves
