This has been happing to me on singleplayer and I can't figure out why. I can create a new world and play just fine, but as soon as the world is offloaded (like leaving the singleplayer world or the server going offline) I can no longer rejoin due to an error that says it tried to read an NBT tag that was too big. I've uninstalled so many mods and installed the packet fixer mod but nothing seems to help and it's really annoying when i lose all my progress when the server does its automated restarts.
#World data gets corrupted on restart

Can you upload the level.dat? Someone (hopefully me, but someone else may beat me to it) can see if NBT explorer will find what is too big, and if that points some direction.
Taking a look.
There are some dimensions in here with tens of thousands of biomes available for generation.
Dimension 25 has 14,926 available biomes, Dimension 3 has 17,012...
ah
It's entirely a guess, but that would be my first thought as to why this would blow up.
i may know the mod that might be causing that, i'll delete it and see if it fixes anything
Unfortunately, NBT Explorer doesn't have an easy "find a very large tag" or "give me the size of this tag and its children" to help be more sure.
Which one was it?
it's called multiverse
it adds rifts that lead to a configurable amount of randomly generated dimensions (the default is 25) and i also happen to have a lot of other mods installed that add new biomes to the game for all 3 vanilla dimensions and i guess the game had a hard time trying to generate 25 different dimensions with so many biomes available
Ah - so you just had to cap the biomes or dimensions available?
