Spark
How to provide a Spark sampler.
- Stop your server.
- Download Spark: https://modrinth.com/mod/spark/versions
- Upload the mod to your server:
Filemanager > mods (for modded servers)
or Filemanager > plugins (for plugin based servers)
(Just drag & drop the file) - Start the server.
- Use the command /spark sampler
- Wait 10-15 minutes.
- Use the command /spark sampler --stop
What does this do I have spark and just ran it?
It will monitor your server and identify what is causing lag and what is taking up the most resources
Gotcha then we look at that and figure out what the issue is.
Thanks for the help so far
after 15 mins Use the command /spark sampler --stop this will generate a web link, you can use this to see what is taking up lag
Ok so you have a similar issue to what i had a bit ago, you have a lot of entities 1294 total, I recommend installing a mod that allows you to limit these
Any suggested mod?
Are you using forge?
I am I am
Minecraft 1.20.1
I bricked my server last night trying to fix this issue XDD
ok i recommend incontrol https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/in-control/files/all?page=1&pageSize=20&version=1.20.1
does that let me set an ammount im guessing
yea you can straight up not allow mobs to spawn or limit the spawn amount to zombies for example to 5
yup works for every entity
Gonna throw it on the server on the next restart in 20 minutes
Alrighty Booting the server up with the mod installed now
Server is up!
Just a note, this mod requires you to manually add the mod ids into the config file, here is a tutorial on how to do that https://www.mcjty.eu/docs/mods/control-mods/control-mods-20#spawn-prevent-too-many-zombies
intresting
Little lost
so do I have to Manually add the modded creatures to the mod
yes
This ones gonna confuse me XD sorry Haven't messed with this yet.
here is an example pretty simple when you look at it
in the spawn file
on your spark report you can copy the mod ids here or, in game do F3+h and when looking at a spawn egg or at a mob it will tell the mobs id
intresting
so
What I should do is when my server gets bogged down
look at the spark report write down the IDS of the one that are real bad on spark and put them into In control
Yea you can do that, thats what i do, or you can just start adding mobs 1 by 1 by looking at the spawn eggs and just set a limit on them all
noted noted
any other bit of advice?
