to answer the question asked on the lllxlll's thread, I'm not completely sure what is meant by modloader, but if you mean forge, yes, the server is set to the correct version of curse forge, and when trying to connect to the server, I'm in the same version of curseforge with all the same mods.

CurseForge is a file hosting website with a downloader.

#

It is entirely unrelated to the Forge modloader other than it hosts mods for Forge and will install it for you.

#

So your modpack may not actually use Forge, even if you made it with CurseForge.

CurseForge supports at least 3 other modloaders.

my server runs forgelatest 1.20.1

#

the instance of minecraft im using to join the server is forge 47.3.15

#

is that the issue?

pine trench
#

Maybe?

Please send some logs over so we can help resolve your issue. To access logs on your Minecraft server, please navigate to your server panel's File Manager and take the following path:

1. Open the Server's File Manager
2. Navigate inside the 'logs' folder
3. Click on "latest.log" to download it and send the file over Discord to this channel.

pine trench

Screenshot of your mods folder, with the path/breadcrumbs at the top, please.

#

Preparing level "ChillyB's new thing for real this time"

Also, there is 0 reason to change the Level Name setting unless you're switching between different worlds.

You put your entire modpack inside the mods folder.

#

So your mods are in mods/mods

#

Your configs are likewise in the wrong place.

#

And you uploaded shaderpacks, which the server doesn't need.

patent lantern
#

so delete the saves, resourcepacks, and shaderpacks, remove the additional mods folder and just put the contents on the first mods folder into the server's mods folder

#

what do I do with configs though?

pine trench
#

Move it up one level, same as the contents of the extra mods folder.

#

You're supposed to have /home/container/mods/mod1.jar and /home/container/config/mod1config.properties but instead you clicked into mods then uploaded your files.

#

If you're wanting to continue a world that's in the saves folder, you'll have to move that up 2 folders.

patent lantern
#

so then is this correct?

pine trench
#

Much better.

patent lantern
#

so it should work in theory?

pine trench
#

Hopefully.

#

Start it and see.

patent lantern
#

it tries to start and then stops

#

heres what i think is the error message

#

Server marked as offline...
[Panel]: ---------- Detected server process in a crashed state! ----------
[Panel]: Exit code: 1
[Panel]: Out of memory: false
[Panel]: Aborting automatic restart, last crash occurred less than 60 seconds ago.

pine trench
#

That is not remotely the error message.

#

That's the status message that says "hey, there's an error somewhere above this".

#

Logs again.

patent lantern
pine trench
#

That's right at the beginning of a restart - the log is empty.

patent lantern
#

should I start the server again to try to get a different log?

pine trench
#

No, wait for it to stop, then grab the log.

#

It usually auto-retries thrice, then goes "well, this isn't working..."

patent lantern
pine trench
#

That's just one extra line.

patent lantern
#

then what can I do differently to get a different log

pine trench
#

Watch the console until it stops retrying.

#

If it never stops on its own, you'll have to open up one of the log archives and grab a file from that.

patent lantern
#

i stops retrying after two attempts for me

#

but i just checked the latest log and it looks the same as before

#

would the debug log be more helpful?

pine trench
#

Maybe?

Let's start with copy/paste the Console output into a text document and upload that... There's got to be something there.

#

Everything between the two most recent blocks like the one you pasted above.

patent lantern
pine trench
#

One of your mod jars is corrupt.

patent lantern
#

is there a way to see which one it is?

pine trench
#

Debug log might show it, but most likely just sort by file size and see if any has a size of 0.

patent lantern
#

the smallest file is 14.2KB

#

also four of the jars have folder icons and one of them has a document icon on the bisect application if that means anything

#

it looks like it has a problem with the architectury mod

pine trench
#

Re-upload that mod, then.

patent lantern
#

its starting up, ill update you in a second

#

thank you so much for all your help so far!

#

as far as I can tell it works!!

#

Again thank you so so much!!
