Bisect would say its backing up the world every couple of hours andi needed to update my modpack but i lost my files, and when i try to find those backups they arent there.

Just a quick note - when it says Saving in the Console, that isn't a backup. That's writing things that changed to disk in case of a crash so you only lose a few minutes.
Only way you're getting a backup every couple of hours is if you went into the Backups tab of the Control Panel and set that up yourself.
