directional placing for custom block

hello, Im working on making a custom block that i want to be able to be placed like regular beehives from minecraft, i.e. horizontal directions. I tried many things and looked at other posts but nothing is working for me, attached will be the code i have and the file structure. the apiary_tier_1.json is not in the mutant_bees folder since i was doing some testing.
