An unusual ship designed with the comfort and safety of it's crew in mind.
The Dido barges main feature is it's two airlocks, one internal and one to external atmosphere (or lack thereof). This allows the inner living quarters atmosphere to remain untouched while frequent moving in and out of the ships outer airlock is taking place. While salvaging the expensive salvage can be stored inside the storage room. Through manual intervention the storage room can be pressurized and depressurized which allows the crew to bring in salvage unhindered and then work on repairing it in a safe atmosphere.
The rest of the barge is outfitted for long stretches of local salvage. Featuring a bedroom for up to three people, a community room with a kitchen, entertainment system and exercise equipment. There's also a bathroom and a charging room for charging expensive durable tools. The power of which comes from the reactor room, with it's many batteries storing power for a very long time. With the extra oxygen supplied in the storage rooms, captains have reported being able to stay outside the OKGL for weeks, taking their time to salvage ships while more comfortable than they would be on many stations.
With the cost of the ship compared to the average salvagers income, the ship was a massive commercial failure.
