Working on restoring a derelict only to find out it cannot be brought for broker rating as it has no power is a bit weird, since it is not possible (at the moment) to tow it and dock simultaneously.
The good old trick of swapping batteries work, but... we can charge batteries from one car to the other with a simple set of cables, why not being able to charge when tow is secured? Docks do actually that with your ship.

Would be a fun concept, perhaps. I imagine having to EVA over to a purchased item that has some rubber hosing and cables that connect from one ship to the other, across the sides of the Airlock.

Why not simply allow power transfer (toggable) through the airlocks? I mean they are clearly standardized. Shouldn't they allow power transfer? This way you could power the derilic grid (as far as it exists) from your own grid if you want/need to. After all the airlock also must have this feature already to reload your batteries at the stations.
