Ironman Mode….no auto save/perma death #Ironman

What would the possibilities of a game mode I like to think of as Ironman.

I’ve seen something similar with other games where there is no auto save. Additionally, each time you open the game the existing save file is essentially locked so you can’t run off a save, have something go bad, and then go back and reload it to try again. You have to to a formal save to leave the game and the previous save game file is over written.

I understand game crashes happen and could be an issue , but with sandbox games like this it makes a player think through their actions and suffer the consequences of poor results.

It's.. halfway in the game already.

You can turn of auto save and leave the setting to save on exit. While it does not delete the "old save" if someone wants to play ironman mode that would be the way to go.

If people wanna cheat there ironman mave there where ways ways around it.

This is actually what dan originally wanted for the game

...but its had so much jank that it just felt unfair to have for now
