If we look at the conditions for installing "Storage Bay" on the floor - there must be floor cells around, this additional area must not intersect with another "Storage Bay" or with the additional area from large tanks. It turns out that the true size of the "Storage Bay" is not 2x3, but 4x5.

  1. If we take "Subfloor Bin" as a sample, then for 1 size cell, the internal storage area is 2x2. Then "Storage Bay" should have a storage size of 4x5x4 = 80 cells, 8x10.
  2. Do you think it's a lot? Then let's take the Rakow's "Replete" design as a sample. Their storage area is equal to 3 size areas. So "Storage Bay" 60 cells, 6x10.
  3. A lot again? Let's take the Bulkhead Bins design as a sample. The storage area is twice the physical size. So "Storage Bay" 40 cells, 5x8.
  4. Let's assume that such a large container needs frame reinforcement in 4 corners. Then 36 cells. 6x6. And there is a "HyperHandy" of this size in the game.
    A coincidence? I don't think so.
And of course, the ability to put any movable game object in the "Storage Bay".
