#First Time Playing - Missing Derelict and Other Minor Issues

Hello! I hope it isn't too much trouble putting two things into one post. However, During my first time playing through this game, I found some confusing things. Also, there are no installed mods.

The potentially simpler one first - Whenever I was trying to move my ship around for the first time, the ship would shake an absolute ton repeatedly like i was constantly running into something. Also, I would constantly get an overweight error on the log constantly repeating. I think I understand the G-force thing, but is this normal? one of the pictures I attached is showing this log repeating.

The second more game-ending thing - When I docked into my first "derelict" and attempted to board, I stepped out into nothing but a single piece of wall. The tutorial also didn't say anything once I existed the airlock. I tried reloading and trying again with no luck. I also zoomed out and turned off the "fog of war" and there was nothing to be seen anywhere near me. I will say, if I tried to float forward, my character would stop like she was running into something. It almost seemed like something was supposed to be there but was just invisible.

Another minor issue I had at the first space station which may be related - there were areas in the space station where the "fog of war" or shadows would not clear if I was looking at them. I could walk into complete darkness like walking through a wall of sorts. I could highlight items with my cursor and I think interact with them, but I could not see. Unfortunately, I did not think to grab a screenshot at that point.

Thank you for any help and let me know if I can provide anything else that could help.!

1: This is normal, your character is experiencing G-force when thrusting thus making them heavier.

2: Derelicts can spawn in various states of disrepair, I believe you got unlucky with that one.

3: Game has a darkness mechanic in addition to the fog of war, equip a light like a PDA in your hand or wear a EVA suit to light dark areas.

There are two things going on here, firstly is that you will likely want to adjust your RCS throttle (slider in the bottom right) so you aren't accelerating so hard.

Secondly is that worn thrusters 'stutter', which creates the repeating log. Restoring your thrusters will stop this.

For this one, it's unfortunately bad luck on the ship damage RNG! Ships closer to OKLG will have been stripped of more stuff, potentially down to the bone like you experienced.

Lastly, in addition to DullWolf's comments you can also place your work light in your hand, this will light up those dark areas.

Okiedokie, thanks guys. I guess I'll either start a new game or try another spot. thanks for the info.

I know it might be difficult at this point, but maybe a suggestion for the dev team would be to have the tutorial have you go to a scripted derelict to avoid this situation, or maybe making it more obvious upon arrival that a spot is Completely empty. It's kind of silly to literally have nothing there and no external way of knowing that. The logic of the game suggests that there was something there to hail - it wouldn't make sense that you could hail a small space chunk of wall. Though the game is still in early early access so, I guess something like that could still be ironed out. @lament briar have you actually experienced this same thing before?

On the other hand there is still the fact that I was running into an invisible wall, I would still think there is a chance that there was a bug, IMO.
